China Military News

While I think @Bacle is a little too trusting of the media on this topic, I also think @Zachowon is being far too cavalier about it and I don't think the Chinese should be underestimated in any way.
I'm not underestimating them.
It won't be a quick and easy war. Ot will be plenty bloody. We are also not to be underestimated because we can't currently output in the same level as them....and if we did we would still have quality over them

The Chinese have still managed to embarrass us, though. I seem to recall that one of their diesel-electric subs managed to remain undetected while a carrier group drove right over it, and then surfaced right into the middle of it. I also seem to recall that there was a lot of downplaying of the significance of that act, but the fact is that the Chinese gave us an important lesson there, and I hope that we actually learned from it instead of just being butthurt and insisting that it didn't really mean anything.

Oh we did learn.
We always learn from embarrassing moments.

We also would have support from the Japs

Israel was accused of giving them plans for IAI Lavi, thus kickstarting the development of J-10. Of course the same people also accuse Israelis of selling the Chinese every other bit of technology USA shares with them like Patriot missiles and all other fighters.
IAI Lavi was a cancelled project and selling blueprints is a great way to recoup costs.

From a sheer business POV, this is a good decision.

From other POVs . . . let's just leave it at this.

Why? China would not attack Israel, and whover want win presidency in USA must support them anyway.Just like in Poland - Israel support Putin, but we still support jewish state.
If somebody help you no matter what, you could piss on him.Like Israel do with Poland and USA.

So...why is nit informing the public a bad thing in this regard?
Because it is stupid easy to find this shit via OSINT accounts these days, and things that can be seen on sat commercial sat photo's or seen via a cell phone camera in a public setting will never stay quiet long anymore.

Pretending the silo's are not there, when any slub with Google Earth and some space time can find them...I mean it just makes the military seem behind the curve of public perception and awareness in the digital age.

We armt pretending they aren't there...

To be honest, it's not the task of these organisations to report about their discoveries to general public, they report to their higher ups and in the end the politicians decide whether the public should know. Of course, during the previous administration, these same organisations fed every bit of unverified rumours, that could hurt administration, to the media, so they could undermine Trump.

China is reportedly converting civilian ferries to military use as a 'surge' for its Amphibious Assault capabilities.

Defense News said:
The July report was published in the Jamestown Foundation’s China Brief by Conor Kennedy, an instructor at the U.S. Naval War College’s China Maritime Studies Institute. The report said that since 2019, the roll-on/roll-off ferry Bang Chui Dao, a 15,560-ton vessel owned and operated by COSCO Shipping Ferry Company, has been fitted with a modified ramp able to launch and recover amphibious armored vehicles while offshore.

This capability means the ship can launch and recover vehicles without dedicated port facilities. This is in contrast to typical RO/RO vessels, which have straight hydraulic ramps for vehicles to drive on or off while ships are in port.

Hmmmmm.
Whybwould the do that?
Combined with the threats to Japan, the building of more silos, and now this? I genuinely think they're going to be dumbasses and attack Taiwan within the next year.

At that point, the US will have a tough decision: Will Beijing Biden bow down to his CCP masters thus showing his true nature to the world, or will the US actively defend Taiwan as its supposed to and go against the Chinese yoke around his neck?

I hope the later.
I want to kick some Chinese ass
