Never make the mistake of underestimate just how shit thew quality life can get in a communist country and still be combat capable.

Never underestimate how much your Army and Air Force gets gutted when a few million Gallons of water bulldozes your bases.

To the best of my knowledge, the Chinese are aware of the risk the 3 Gorges Dam poses.

They've probably already moved the vast majority of its military formations and installations out of the flood path.

If anything happens, the dam collapse will wipe out a big chunk of China's population and it's most well developed industrial region, but I don't think its military capability is going to be impacted.

United States approves $100 million dollar contract with Taiwan to sustain, maintain, upgrade and modernize their Patriot Missile systems.

Taiwan's Foreign Ministry said it "highly welcomed" the decision.

"In the face of China's continued military expansion and provocative actions, our country will maintain its national security with a solid defense, and continue to deepen the close security partnership between Taiwan and the United States," it said in a statement.

Taiwan's Defense Ministry has said the decision to obtain newer Patriot missiles was made during a 2019 meeting with U.S. officials in the administration of President Donald Trump.

The ministry said the deal was expected to "come into effect" within one month.
