China has apparently formally asked for a meeting between their Defense Minister and America's Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to take place in Singapore. The purpose of this meeting is ostensibly to "manage" the competition between the US and China and comes in the wake of General Austin's comments that the US was looking to supply Taiwan with more arms and equipment which China reacted by stating it threatens their sovereignty and whatnot.

I wonder what Vietnam will do about this because they really do not like China (understatement of the century) and actually overthrew a Chinese-backed government to restore a monarchy after they told the US to be elsewhere.
The Vietnamese like the Chinese about as well as I'd like a racist asshat neighbour who doesn't respect boundaries while also calling me a "nip".
They'll refer to the non-existent base as the Sino-Cambodian Pol Pot Joint Maritime Operations Center of Genocidal Excellence in all Official Media and Correspondence.
