If you thought Americans were racists you've never heard mainland Chinese and the casual racism in their speech. Pay attention next time you go to a Chinatown some of those signs don't match the English translation posted beside them. You can tell the first generation mainland Chinese from first generation Taiwanese and Singaporean Chinese.
There was a scandal a year or two back where a bunch of Hololive Chinese streamers acted completely two-faced with their audiences; to their Western fans, they were all polite, friendly, and affable like any streamer is, but to their native Chinese fans? They (along with the fans themselves) were completely vicious, racist, and outright Chinese (and CCP) supremacist. They also laughed at their Western fans, basically shitting on them and calling them gullible and such... until they were exposed, and then they began panicking.
That was all basically their true natures.
It's a long video, but it exposes it all in-depth.
As soon as Hololive found out, they shitcanned the whole mainland China division.
It just emphasizes that Chinese (especially Han) people are incredibly, incredibly arrogant and racist.
This is especially infuriating because I'm in a relationship with a member of the Guomindangang. They've served the cause of Nationalist China faithfully for years across dozens of fruitless campaigns.
Granted this was all in Hearts of Iron IV and they're actually from the Upper Midwest and never been to China but unless you've repeatedly played Nationalist China campaigns, you wouldn't understand the unique struggle.
Remember 3 years ago when random youth in big cities were running up an sucker punching Chinese people. Well translations of what mainland Chinese people were actually saying was hitting the internet around the same time.
The majority of victims were not CCP Chinese. A lot of them fled China and were anti-CCP. They attacked the wrong Chinese.
Never said anger was rational. Just people lash out when mad.

I remember during this time in the official Hololive Reddit and on 4chan that there were Chinese Holo fans who could speak English that were warning the English fans "Artia and her simps are mocking you guys behind your backs and are part of the attack on Coco and Haachama" and posting translations of those posts and the like but kept getting shut down as shit stirring antis (short for anti-fans, for you folks who don't know this bit of idol/Vtuber lingo). Last I heard they and other mainland Holo fans were still doing the equivalent of Intertubes guerilla war on the CCP simps as revenge for forcing Hololive to leave China. LOL, shows how much of a failure Xinnie the Pooh and CCP bugmen are that there are West Taiwanese who hold more allegiance and loyalty to foreign anime girl streamers than glorious Communist Chena.
