I have the sensation this behavior of theirs IS going to make some nutcases sound reasonable.

So looks like the Biden Admin got played by the Ayatollah; all that hostage ransom money don't mean shit, because Iran ain't playing ball on the important shit.
Can't the US just clamp down on the money again? I was under the impression that it wasn't actually released to full Iranian control but rather was being moved to a position from which Iran could order that it be used for humanitarian supplies instead of sitting inert in the bank.

No, pretty sure that money got moved into places outside the reach of sanctions and SWIFT pretty fast once it was unfrozen.

That is if some of it wasn't just delivered as pallets of cash like Obama did.

sorry, lack of sleep. I was thinking Iraq.
we fucked up our invasion of iraq and afghanistan. so what makes anyone think we won't fuck up invading iran next.
I mean Iraq was also fronted by the US as a proxy in a war against Iran with casualties into the hundreds of thousands. A lot of US money was certainly funneled into said proxy war. Honestly, the losses taken on behalf of the US by Iraq was part of the reason Saddam felt confident in his land grab. The US turning on him cost them their only useful proxy in the Middle East.

I'm not so sure its a question of stupidity. So much as its due to the fact that the USA and it's allies are the Big Kids on the Block. And one either plays ball and hope they don't backstab you later or you go against them and suffer for it now via various different means.

Then, they are idiots, becouse, when there is no such thing like friends in politics, there certainly are enemies.
They keep turning more and more states from those who simply do not support them in their dark hour to those who come kill them becouse of past.

There's a problem with your theory. Most of those states are thoroughly trashed when the US betrays them., So they aren't really in a position to retaliate.
