Russia, while it was expansionist up to the death of Stalin, hasn't invaded countries since 1979. Russia is a no danger. I am more afraid of the US and Moscow's frenemies the PRC.
Why is Ukraine in NATO a no go?My two cents on Russia.
Unless the unlikely happens, which will be a push from the West and NOT from Russia, everyone from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok will just be quiet and try to fucking survive.
- Putin is very aware he can't pull a Crimea on other of its neighbours unless it is one of the weak Central Asian Republics
- Ukraine in NATO is a no go.
- Putin and Russians who are politically aware don't like the idea of being cornered by NATO and it already happened with the Baltics and Poland.
- Both want to be left the fuck alone.
That doesn't mean shit.Russia, while it was expansionist up to the death of Stalin, hasn't invaded countries since 1979. Russia is a no danger. I am more afraid of the US and Moscow's frenemies the PRC.
Same reason missiles in Cuba was as well. Every country has its red lines. Why is Ukraine in NATO a no go?
That doesn't mean shit.
They invaded Donbas and Crimea....
What will stop Ukraine from joining NATO?Same reason missiles in Cuba was as well. Every country has its red lines.
Allow me to express my complete lack of surprise.Tens of thousands entered US unvetted after Kabul airlift, officials say in memo
Tens of thousands entered US unvetted after Kabul airlift, officials say in memo - Washington Examiner
Almost none of the 82,000 people airlifted from Kabul in August were vetted before being admitted to the United States, despite claims to the contrary from the Biden administration, according to a congressional memo summarizing interviews with federal officials who oversaw the effort at domestic...www.washingtonexaminer.com
TLDR:
Despite claiming to have screened and vetted the 82,000 Afghan evacuees who were admitted to the US, a confidential congressional report leaked to @dcexaminer reveals US officials skirted the in-person interviews, leaving virtually all unvetted
Russia using it proximity advantage and energy supply to the EU to prevent it. I mean there has already been enough confusion and spy vs spy bullshit in the country that no one can tell what’s legitimate anymore. It’s well past post truth. What will stop Ukraine from joining NATO?
None of it. "Leftist propaganda" is about deligitimizing anti-Communist efforts in general, not making the argument that what McCarthy did was more harmful than anything else to said efforts. How much of that is leftist propaganda that's become the cultural norm, and how much of that is the truth of what actually happened?
Again, what is stopping Ukraine from joining NATO.Russia using it proximity advantage and energy supply to the EU to prevent it. I mean there has already been enough confusion and spy vs spy bullshit in the country that no one can tell what’s legitimate anymore. It’s well past post truth.
Is the American public willing to fight Russia over a country that most could not locate on a map? In the middle of the showdown with China over Taiwan? Who really cares what a former Soviet satellite does?
Not true.Russia, while it was expansionist up to the death of Stalin, hasn't invaded countries since 1979. Russia is a no danger. I am more afraid of the US and Moscow's frenemies the PRC.
Not true.
If USA implodes, then this
will be happening to Canada literally the next day.
I've always suspected that Russia didn't really scrap all that Soviet era military gear they said they did and they merely put them into storage for "later use".Only because Canada has next to no real military. As they’ve been hiding behind the USA for defense since around WW2.
Of course there’s the question of exactly how Russia is going to get enough troops to Canada to make a meaningful impact, which in turn brings Europe into the question and also why on Earth Russia would want to invade Canada anyway.
Through Alaska probably. Like they are pretty close geographically.Only because Canada has next to no real military. As they’ve been hiding behind the USA for defense since around WW2.

And how are they going to get a supply chain long enough to get their troops and equipment down to the parts of Canada almost everyone lives in?Through Alaska probably. Like they are pretty close geographically.
Even if that is true, how much of it do you think was stored for it to be usable decades later? Or not obsolete?I've always suspected that Russia didn't really scrap all that Soviet era military gear they said they did and they merely put them into storage for "later use".
And all they really have to do is take Ottawa.
Once the capital and our government falls, the war is over.
They would be unmolestedAnd how are they going to get a supply chain long enough to get their troops and equipment down to the parts of Canada almost everyone lives in?
And again, why would Russia want to invade Canada to begin with?
Even if that is true, how much of it do you think was stored for it to be usable decades later? Or not obsolete?
Yeah, just like Napoleon just had to take Moscow and Russia would stop fighting OH WAIT.
Red Alert 4?And again, why would Russia want to invade Canada to begin with?
How about the fact that the country is still embroiled in a civil war, and probably will be for the foreseeable future?Again, what is stopping Ukraine from joining NATO.
Not true.
If USA implodes, then this

They invaded Donbas and Crimea....
No they didn't; they were invited to both regions by a majority of the local population, who took issue with the fact that the Ukranian government had been violently overthrown by extremists who did not have their best interests in mind. They invaded Donbas and Crimea....
