From my understanding Russia did the same thing to Ukraine a few months ago but there wasn't a civilian. This had less to do with tactics and more symbolism of "Fuck you we'll fight dirty because you fought dirty"

Basically using a kill streak out of spite

Just read this little quip, "The Defense Intelligence Agency's Trent Maul believes Ukrainian troops could break through all of Russia's defensive lines by the end of 2023, "Had we had this conversation two weeks ago, I would have been slightly more pessimistic," he admitted."

Lots of butt-covering in that statement, but it's definitely a change of opinion from the established intel bunnies."

I think the biggest question is going to be, "Will Russia be able to mount the same kind of winter offensive it did last year to try and seize some initiative back?" -- I think the answer is that they'll try, but it won't work b/c they've taken some heavy artillery losses. I do expect another heavy missile bombardment as Russia as held a lot of those munitions back for a while to build up stores.
If we just send them a few billion dollars more it'll totally work!

Waiting for the backtracking in 2024 when none of this happens and borders stay the same or Ukraine loses more land.

Then People can jump in with excuses like "they totally didn't fail, they were just going for logistical targets, it was totally the plan all along bro trust me bro, we just need to send a few billion more dollars, Russia is going to lose any day now!"

Yes! it is all part of the 24 dimensional hungry hungry hippo game being played by Ukraine and NATO. Ukraine having to field women in the front lines? Its all part of the Plan. Just a few more months, and Pootin will be history.

Right now the US is 'distracted' sending all its ammo to its rightful masters - Israel.
Nothing is available for Ukraine. If you have any doubts, just ask why they want the EU to take the burden.
And the EU can't send more - they are already at max production capacity.
If anyone thinks that Ukraine is going to win the next winter operations, said people are in need of a reality check.
Hek, they lose (badly) their much-vaunted/publicized counter-offensive.
The next months are going to be much worse for Ukraine.

The utterly failed counter offensive is mostly what I was referencing in my last post.

I watched everyone (here, media, etc) go on about how great it was going to be, then they lost territory, it was obviously failing, so they flipped the script to "nah man they were totally going for logistical stuff the whole time, all part of the plan bro its totally successful bro"

Lol. Ukraine is not winning. I'm not even pro Russia, seriously, I have always maintained that Russia is in the wrong. Though I maintain that Ukraine is not going to win. This ends by them signing away some territory to Russia.

Per chance, weren't you intending to post that /pol/ or something?

Random ass theories from someone who has not even loose idea on how much ammo is being sent either direction in numbers.

LMAO.

Because Russia surely will triumph over the mud season and winter now with their second rate refurbished gear as opposed to their best stuff that they still mostly had last winter.

I see you still believe too much in your propaganda.
Just look at the WSJ for example - they started talking about containing Russia, not defeating it anymore.
Even before October 7, NATO + Japan + SK couldn't produce enough ammo, and now, almost all US production + stocks are sent to another place - I let you guess where.
At the same time, Russia is producing/deploying a lot more drones and guided/smart weapons.
Can you do the math, or need some help?

I don't care about what some journos think of it. Watch Perun's video on this if you want to know the basics.

Well it's easy to deploy a lot more than what they did in the past, which was very little.
Everyone spams Chinese commercial drones there now like they are going out of style, and Ukrainians were first on that game.

Mices are no joke.I read, that soviets was able to easily flank romanians in Stalingrad, becouse german armored dyvision stationed there to prevent that lost all tanks thanks to mices - they used hay to schield engines of their tanks from winter, mices get through that to engines and cut enough wires there that they stopped working.

Dunno if it is true,or not.

Mice were part of the issue from what I've read / watched (Tikhistory's Battlestorm Stalingrad is on the level of the best documentaries I've ever watched), but they were given very early war hand me downs in pretty much all things from the tanks (that did get chewed up by mice) to a few 40mm AT guns that couldn't do jack vs Soviet armor and a lot more besides... not that the Soviets covered themselves in glory in basically going forward like it was the Winter War 1939... if they hadn't been fighting mostly rear guard units they MIGHT'VE been stalled long enough for the 6th Army to get its sh!t together and partly escape encirclement.
