Giving up Ukraine to Moscow means that Germany can't get Ukraine for its own EU project, which would be absolutely intolerable for Germany.

When any military force starts doing that you know they they're clowns. Googling variations on "military show flaming hoops" and "military show ridiculous martial arts" gives me Russia, Egypt, Lebanon, ISIS, North Korea, Iraq, Iran, China... I wonder if there's a name for that.

No fucking idea, but polling in Russia suggests they think it will probably take at least to the end of the year to reach all objectives.
Frankly it depends on how fast they will clear Azovstal and then tighten the noose around that army in the Donbass.
Taking out Azov and eviscerating every Azovite in and around Mariupol is probably something they want to do first, because that will really break the spirit of the Ukronazi commissars among the regular troops.

It's January so how are the Russians doing on those objectives of theirs?
