Amy Coney Barrett released her opening statement for the confirmation hearing that is scheduled for tomorrow.

Ok, since you are continuing with your "theorizing" let's make this plain.

You are to provide evidence from reasonably acceptable sources to support your claims or provide a logically constructed and reasonably rational argument in support of your supposition.

Failure to do so will see action taken against you under Rule 2c:
-Posting inflammatory content in an attempt to bait other users to violate the civility rules.

In addition, if you post "theories" outside of the Conspiracy Theory thread without also providing accessible sources of evidence to support your "theories" and/or a logically constructed and rational argument in favor of them being accurate (or at least worthy of reasonable discussion) then those posts will be ruled to violate Rule 3 - Obey the Staff.
 
You know, on various right-leaning sites, I see people demanding to know why they're even bothering with the hearings rather than going straight to a floor vote. Apparently those people are too thick to realize that part of the idea is to give the Democrats ample opportunity to make asses of themselves.

I would have no problem with this being asked to every person appointed to a political office. Including the Speakership and Majority Leader in the Senate. Especially with news of all those congressional settlements issued to aides etc.

They did try to say she hates gays because she said “sexual preference” which Biden was saying as late as May of this year.
I think they really don’t got anything to throw at her and it shows with the great bombshells from this thing being the that and the are you a rapist question.
 
My Highlights so far...

Amy Coney Barrett is using no notes in her answers... while the Democrat Congresscritters have binders and books of notes in front of them looking for stuff to entrap her in.



Former Attorney General and once Presidential (and SCOTUS) hopeful Amy Klobuchar tries to trap Amy Coney Barrett with a question about 'SuperPrecedents' and Roe v. Wade. It fails and Amy embarrasses herself.



Amy Coney Barrett answers a question from Dick Durbin about the George Floyd video quite eloquently.



Senator China Feinstein tries to press Amy Coney Barrett on policy questions and her personal views on things and ACB parries it. Feinstein gets annoyed and tries to imply ACB hates women and asks the same question repeatedly.



Senator Durbin tries to trap ACB repeatedly on previous decisions and embarrasses himself.

while this is true there is another reason, we do not need another Roberts, we dont want another Roberts we want some one who remembers their job upholding the consitution and doesnt feel a need to destroy our civil rights for generations because they want to be liked by the CNN crowd.

This is going to hurt her, she is going to have to deal with insults, false accusations and horrible bullshit and fuckery, this is good because we want her to remember that pain that anger when this is over. We want some one reliable and the pain she will go through is a part of that process.
 
After spending a day plotting their best angles of attack on Amy Coney Barrett, Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar managed to come up with this doozy....



Amy Klobuchar: There have been hundreds of statements by him, by my colleagues, and I just find it hard to understand that you are unaware of the Presidents statements.
ACB: I took Senator Harris' question yesterday to be referring to a specific tweet... maybe the one you have behind you. *points*

It's a good thing the microphones are mounted on the desk because otherwise it would've dropped there.

But it gets worse.

Senator Klobuchar then tries to trap Amy Coney Barrett in how she penned an article critiquing Judge Roberts decision in his Affordable Care Act decision and asks about how that article came out in the University of Minnesota Law Review in the same year that Amy Coney Barrett was nominated to the Seventh Circuit Court by Donald Trump.

And ACB's response is just pure ownage! Somehow... MINNESOTA SENATOR and MINNESOTA Attorney General and FORMER County Attorney for the County that the University of Minnesota is located in and literal lawyer for most of her life... whose penned a plethora of articles for periodicals.... did something that no Attorney should ever do... which is ask a question of a person without knowing the answer.

If she did know the answer (and she may have) then she kinda embarrassed herself IMHO.

Also... one of Amy Coney Barrett's former students, law clerks and an appellate attorney had some kind words in support for Amy Coney Support.



Of course it's highly problematic. Unfortunately this young woman is blind and thus also blind to the White privilege she possessed which is a likely reason why Amy Coney Barrett helped her at all in the first place.

And finally....
