You're from the Land of 10,000 Lakes: the home of the legendary HHH, Mondale & Co.,

I'm assuming Klobuchar is seeking reelection to 4th term as your United States Senator up there in 2024 correct ?
Most likely. She is an incumbent and hasn't had a big enough scandal to knock her out. hell the DA is a domestic abuser and he still won. unless she chooses not to run or gets caught dropping the hard R she is probably the dem pick. I would expect her to win as the republicans have made basically no attempt to improve the ground game here. cities kinda overpower the rural areas here.

Let's not forget about MN Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan (D) running for the United States Senate in 2024 if Klobuchar chooses to retire.

Big question is whether MN Governor Tim Walz (D) seeks reelection in 2026 ?

The state legislature has been competitive, but the Senate seats have gone pretty reliably for DFLers in the 21st century; the two exceptions were when the incumbent died in a plane crash a week before the election, and when they (barely) kicked out in 2008 the Republican who had (narrowly) won in 2002.

(Gubernatorially, Republicans won the first two elections of the century but DFLers have been in office since 2010, which was notably a red wave election both nationally and in non-statewide races. On that topic...)

Even if Klobuchar retires (and I doubt she will, since she's not that old), is Flanagan really a shoo-in for the DFL nomination?

I have no idea about Walz. I know some people who are sore about stuff he did during the pandemic, but I think by 2026 that'll be old news. However, it's worth noting that although there are no term limits it does not appear that any Minnesota governor has in fact won a third term.

edit: I stand corrected. Rudy Perpich inherited the second half of a governorship, was defeated for reelection, then was elected and reelected, and then was defeated going for his fourth, not third, term.

Perpich ascended to the Governorship in 1976 when Anderson resigned to take Mondale's US Senate seat when he stepped down after becoming VP.

Let's just say folks didn't like the musical chairs in 1978 which escalated after Humphrey died earlier that year. Perpich lost his election bid for 1st full 4-year term for the Governor's Residence in 1978; GOPers won both US Senate seats as well.

In 1982: Perpich regained the Governorship & won reelection in 1986 before losing reelection in 1990, but he currently holds the record as the Land of 10,000 Lakes Governor with 10 years (1976-1979; 1983-1991).
