Harlock
I should have expected that really
That 400 meter Mens Hurdle final was epic.
The 400 meter Hurdles World Record was established in 1992 by USA Hurdlist Kevin Young with a time of 46.78.
Karsten Warholm of Norway beat that record two months ago on July 1st with a time of 46.70.
Then in the final heat, Karsten Warholm shattered that record by over three quarters a second, winning the 400 meter Gold Medal with a time of 45.94, establishing a new world record. But that wasn't it.
America's Rai Benjamin came in second, as in within almost a half second of Karsten Warholm with a time of 46.17 meaning he too broke the previous world record. He also established an American record as well as obviously a personal best time.

And the person who came in third, Brazil's Alison dos Santos, came in faster then the 1992 record with a time of 46.72, also almost beating the World Record that was established by Karsten just two months prior as well.
What a crazy insane race that was.
Hell of an achievement, and thats despite the US team cheating.
well, sort of
The US track team are wearing a particular type of shoe by Nike which incorporates an air pocket giving them some extra bounce and spring in their step. Shoes of this type have been banned in other sports like the big city marathons as giving the wearer an unfair advantage and those who wear them have been breaking records.
Warholm himself called them bullshit and likened them to a trampoline, and old favourite Usain Bolt also is less than impressed. Every Olympics seems to have it share of controversy and apparently this is it for this year
