Commenting on the first and last articles:

- It's not Lula who tired of the 'climate crisis' agenda - it's the West. Since the US and Europe aren't forking over the money for environmental purposes, Lula is sidelining the domestic environmental agenda, in favour of the ones who are delivering revenue - the sector that is called 'agribusiness'("agronegócio") in Brazil. As that sector usually is opposed to the environmental lobby, you get the current situation;

- Don't fall for the 'conservative Congress' fallacy; the issue here is pork-barrel politics. Congress will deliver what the Executive wants, provided enough pork is distributed. As an example, PL(the party which Bolsonaro is a member of) has sided more with Lula than Lula's own PT, because PT representatives know that if they vote for some of the things Lula is proposing, their own voters will punish them. Meanwhile, Bolsonaro's own sons follow the orders of their party leader(NOT Bolsonaro), and vote with the government.
Not surprised.

The discreet US campaign to defend Brazil’s election

Tl;dr Yes, the braindead woke soyjacks who now comprise America's gov't & glowie corps absolutely did 'fortify' Brazil's elections in Lula's favor and went out of their way to cripple any possible response by Bolsonaro. They are now sufficiently confident to not only admit to it, but also to express their astonishment that the traditionally pro-China/Russia and anti-America Lula still won't suck off Biden even after he did him this yuge favor. (Also, fucking with Latin American elections as a national pastime is cool when the left's doing it.)

Key takeaways IMO:

The fact that the election was not seriously challenged is a testament to the strength of Brazil's institutions. But it was also in part the result of a quiet, year long pressure campaign by the US government to urge the country's political and military leaders to respect and safeguard democracy, which has not been widely reported.
The administration also had a more direct motivation. After the January 6 insurrection by Trump supporters at the Capitol in Washington attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election, Biden felt very strongly about any attempt by Bolsonaro to question the outcome of a free and fair election, US officials say.
Those events fuelled longstanding scepticism of the US among the Brazilian left, including Lula, who in 2020 said Washington was "always behind(opens a new window)" efforts to undermine democracy in the region.
The Biden administration had to find a way to get its message across without the US becoming a political football in a fiercely contested election.
The solution was a concerted but unannounced campaign across multiple branches of the US government, including the military, the CIA, the state department, the Pentagon and the White House. "This was a very unusual engagement," says Michael McKinley, a former top state department official and ex-ambassador to Brazil.

So they meddled in an Brazilian election to install an anti American leader and we're not prosecuting people for treason?
No, silly. They meddled in a Brazilian election to remove a president who was chummy with Trump, and put one in power that would be pro-Democrat Party. And then found out that his loyalty goes as far as the money they give him, money that they had no interest in giving. You should prosecute people for incompetence, not treason.

Once Trump or DeSantis win in 2024, let's see how long Lula will last in office.

If memory serves me correctly, Lula did the same thing with Bush, Jr., and Obama.

They deserve it. The absolute insanity of thinking Lula would be pro-US is just crazy.
49% of Brazilians voted to keep Bolsonaro as President in 2018.

50% of those fools who voted for Jackass Lula deserve everything they're getting!

Can I just say for once it looks like Brazil screwed US back?
Hell even if it is a "self-own" by the Biden admin, it still makes me smile a little.
Very tiny silver lining I suppose...and I don't have to say what I would like to happen to Lula and his underlings.

I mean even if it did who cares? It has been defiled since 2003 to 2018.
You can't defile what was never pure(or holy) to begin with.

As for the charges. Yes they did it(and it was to be expected, given the people involved; that sort of pettyness isn't surprising), yes it wasn't the first time it happened(although this one got widely broadcast because of who did it), and yes it's a nothingburger - people ignored it when that story was first aired 6 months ago, and will continue to ignore it.

You're implying Palacio da Alvorada wasn't pure from the beginning when Lula began his first term as President on 1 January 2003 🤔
