That would be one of the few provisions I would actually support. @Terthna @Abhorsen

Right now I wouldn't be surprised if many people are migrating towards Telegram.
Starlink still is active so I wouldn't be surprised if people with access to it just go on as normal with Twitter.

Again, if the US is an empire, we should actually act like an empire. Simple solution: new law that if a US based company is fined by a foreign country for having/hosting free speech in the US, that country is liable to pay the company back. Then have the US seize assets until the company is made whole.
Let's see if this gets anywhere.

After almost two years, Brazilian Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes has revoked the banning on Rumble and Locals, allowing those to operate in Brazil again.

This is the most recent of decision reversals by Moraes, which includes the unblocking of accounts of journalists and influencers:

IMO, those decisions indicate at least one of two things:

1) Moraes(and the ones who back him) are damn scared of losing USAID money* and the Biden Administration running cover for them, and they don't think they can sustain the pressure on the 'anti-democratic forces';

2) The higher-ups in Brasília have decided that Lula will be out(either through impeachment or in the next election) and are paving the way for Bolsonaro 2.0 in 2026. There are other signs that point to this.

*What DOGE has been publishing shows that USAID sent some US$ 583 million to programs that Brazil was a part of. Many of those were on... 'opinion-shaping activities', shall we say. Some money went to our Electoral Justice, which is responsible for conducting and monitoring elections).

That is certainly the intention of one political faction, yes. Things are in flux - a few weeks after I last posted, they decided to turn the screws on again(Rumble got banned again, for example). A Bolsonaro arrest will be a close thing, the Brazilian Supreme Court is for it, but there are many political chiefs who are against it(for their own reasons, of course - Bolsonaro would be even more beholden to them than Lula is right now, and Lula is basically doing whatever Centrão wants already).

I still believe Lula will be out after 2026 - his popularity is dropping, and while he should retain enough of it not to be impeached, he's on track not to be reelected with his current numbers. The winner will be either Bolsonaro, or someone endorsed by him, in case of a conviction.
