My theories, in order of decreasing desirability:
  1. Technology invented in the security state's black projects and immediately classified and locked away and they're leaking. Or in other words, we're winning. Once the tech becomes common knowledge, our enemies lose. Free energy and raw materials from the asteroid belt and o'neill cylinder lebensraum cheap enough for every group of ideologues to establish their own politically independent city-states. No justification for the prophesied pods-and-bugs hellscape future. And everyone knows exactly who stood to benefit from hiding the technology and was poised to rule the pods-and-bugs hellscape and therefore, who to blame. And with the petrodollar dead as tulip bulbs, they won't be able to buy politicians and military forces to defend themselves.

All we know is that it's possible and that we're being deliberately kept from it. These two things may very well be enough to bring down the state anyway, as every single geopolitical rival starts their own combination manhattan project/byzantine silkworm heist to independently replicate and/or steal the secret and everyone knows just who's been deliberately keeping us from utopia.
  3. It's a fake. Sure this'd require blatantly lying under oath, but after Iraq's supposed WMDs, it's not like security state spooks would expect punishment for that. Propaganda to intimidate geopolitical rivals with the possibility that the US might be hiding wunderwaffe and not be as weak as Afghanistan made us look, and to distract domestic conspiracy theorists from everything else going on. This is probably the most plausible explanation.
  4. Project Beluga or whatever it was called, that conspiracy theory/proposed conspiracy in Wikileaks which was basically Ozymandias' plan from Watchmen, fake an alien invasion. Suddenly the security state's wish list of totalitarianism has a new emergency to justify it. Distinguishable from theory five by the actions taken by the security state, in an actual invasion they'd be sharing their secret tech, building orion drive warships, extra factories and victory gardens, arming the entire population with military-grade weaponry, basically putting the whole planet on a war footing, here, it's the usual. Newsflash, an alien civilization with the capacity to spectroscopically analyze earth's atmosphere from light-years away will already know there's life on earth from the free oxygen being replenished by photosynthesis faster than it can react its way out of the air whether or not the carbon dioxide from our industrial revolution is there or not. If they're the sorts who dispatch Dark Forest preemptive strikes on that degree of information, we should be more industrialized to build generation ships and get breeding populations out of the way, screw earth, it won't last much longer anyway.
  5. The UFOs are real, but fortunately, they're not as overpowered as they seem as demonstrated by a bunch of crash landings and captured pilots, which allowed us to reverse-engineer the technology. We're not at their level, but we are strong enough to make fighting a Mutually Destructive exchange of RKKVs.
  6. The UFOs are real but we haven't got any shipwrecks to reverse-engineer or if we have, we can't make sense of them. We don't know what they want, we can't fight them on equal terms and they're drastically more technologically advanced than us.
  7. The invasion is already here and it's winning. Replacing human labor with robots, mandatory transhumanism, depopulation, technological feudalism, whatever conspiracy floats your boat, they're real but they're not led by humans and their actual objective in attaining world domination is to set up colonial infrastructure. The pedophilia is a cover story, the actual reason why our politicians and oligarchs visit epstein island is for the real conspirators to crawl out their ears and go for a revitalizing swim while soaking up kandrona radiation.
Then there's Outside Context theories which I don't know where to place. Time traveling transhumans interfering to keep history on course to themselves, parallel worlds where we industrialized in antiquity, the Fair Folk, my sarcastic idea from back in 2019 and so forth and so on.
 
After this testimony, I never want to hear the term "conspiracy theory" ever again. If this isn't a hoax, then imagine the resources - both human and financial - that it took to cover up flying saucers and alien bodies for decades. From the late 2000s to the mid-2010s, I worked as a molecular biologist for a national security contractor in a program to study Exo-Biospheric-Organisms (EBO). The aim of the program was to elucidate the genome and proteome basis of these organisms. Although the study of OBCs has been going on for decades in other programs, the new high-throughput DNA sequencing technologies of the late 90s unblocked stagnant research in this area. Since then, several breakthroughs have led to significant advances in our understanding of the genome and proteome of these beings. What we've learned so far has enabled us to outline some disconcerting perspectives about our place in this universe. Briefly, we've discovered that the EBO genome is a chimera of genomes from our biosphere and from an unknown one. They are artificial, ephemeral and disposable organisms created for a purpose that still partially eludes us. I'll be substantiating my statements after a brief introduction.

The way he describes it, these "bodies" are like artificial constructs. They're not born. They're created, from scratch. Assuming any of this is true, that raises many questions of its own. Who, or what, created them? Are we dealing with a machine society that creates biological drones as a workforce of "soft robots", for instance?

I've heard rumors that Greys all have BCIs in their heads. When you see an alien with a brain-computer interface, there's no way to tell who's in control; an organic intelligence, or a synthetic intelligence. We could be dealing with a society that consists entirely of AIs or SIMs (substrate-independent minds) that have already transcended biology and use bodies like these as mere disposable tools.

Think about it. What sort of hyper-competent alien species would take personal risks like crashing an antigravity craft on a hostile world and dying? Those aren't their real bodies. They're disposable drones. The actual mind that's controlling them is elsewhere.

Maybe there are legitimate existential risks that come with this technology. Imagine if it turns out that antigravity flying saucers are really, really easy to make. All you need is some mercury, some copper coils, and a super-high-frequency oscillator, and you, too, can build a Haunebu in your backyard. Every VNSA on the planet would immediately get a colossal stiffy all at once. You could build an antigravity craft and load it up with several thousand pounds of ANFO or Semtex, and have a cruise missile with unlimited range capable of hitting anything, anywhere, on the surface of the Earth.

Literally, I would see everyone with the resources of some pissant little terrorist group getting the capacity to build IED missiles capable of hitting anywhere on earth as an acceptable trade for an equivalently easy and cheap reactionless drive. If nothing else, it'd mean the end of all the oligarchy's plans at world domination if they knew any of the peasantry they were planning on oppressing could RKKV their next davos meeting.

You could also escape this threat by not being on the surface of earth. Nobody can destroy you if they can't catch you and if everyone's using the same kind of engine and you've got a head start, they won't be able to.

The solution to SCP-5392 suddenly being revealed as EX-class is twofold, MAD deterrence and escape. I unironically trust everyone with superweapons more than the current conspirators as the sole owners of a monopoly on superweapons.

So I find this one interesting because Steven Greer, who I think is wrong about a lot but also right about a lot, has been claiming grays are artificial for quite some time, and that they're made by us.

Now I am not saying I believe this without proof. But it matches this guy's story. Of course he could have just gotten this entire idea off of Greer. Or even one of my favorite Sci Fi authors Jeremy Robinson, who explained grays in EXACTLY this way. Biological drones that are remotely controlled.

It's not a totally new idea.

The ammonia smell is consistent with the Varginia Brazil incident. The color of the body and many other parts of the anatomy don't add up, though. This was an interesting event because there are so many witnesses with the same stories that haven't changed for like 30 years.

I've also heard rumors of Russia bio-modifying people to be able to fly certain craft deep in the UFO conspiracy world. It would be interesting if humanity has been building UFOs and grays as remote control drones for decades lol.

If you want to get really deep with it, this also fits with a lot of the remote viewing shit Greer talks about. That could be how they link with the grays.

Ultimately, I want to clarify again that I think all this is bullshit. But it's one of my absolute favorite things to think and talk about. So when I start going on wild tangents, it's just me having fun lol

Bassoe's forgetting #8, the most blackpilled take. There never was an invasion and never will be. Earth is an open-air laboratory and the ayys engineered humans from scratch for some unknown purpose eons ago. Every now and then, they check in on their science project and take samples. Think about it logically. If ayys have access to antigravity and cheap interstellar space travel, there are literally no mineral resources on Earth that are of any value whatsoever. They would have access to limitless resources in the form of asteroid belts and protoplanetary cores. The only thing of value, the only true currency of interstellar commerce, would be exotic biologicals. DNA and tissue samples, et cetera. This would put human trafficking in a new, disturbing light. What if a portion of the people who are disappeared every year by traffickers are then sold by the Deep State to extra-terrestrials in exchange for technological artifacts?

It's been a thing in UFO/alien circles for decades that the "Short Grays" are in fact biological robots of a sort - built from the ground up by another species to serve a variety of purposes. A bit more recently there's been talk about them being the creation of the so-called "Tall Grays", who are supposed to be master geneticists not entirely unlike the Kaminoans in Star Wars, whom some say they served as the direct inspiration for.

From what I recall reading, the Short Grays are only semi-independent on their own, but can be remote controlled or puppetered through a sort of mental uplink or telepathy by other, nearby (?) entities, and are used for things like performing surgeries and experimentation, or simply acting as assistants or carrying out various mundane tasks. Supposedly they turned out to be so useful that the Tall Grays ended up selling them to various allies and trading partners, and as a result pretty much everyone in our stellar neighborhood uses them to varying degrees... which could go a long way to explaining why alien abduction stories so often feature the Small Grays even when the details about the ships and other species or entities (including humans in military uniforms, supposedly) seen alongside them vary from story to story.

That's all speculation, of course.

You completely missed the point of the dark forest.
It's a psychological operation. See how many governments have excused their excesses by blaming it on the existence of Russia, the Jews, the Church, or land owning peasants, overall it's the magic of having (((the enemy))). With all enemies gone from the New World Order, they need an enemy that is outside of the world, so the malicious social changes need (((aliens))) to be their new excuse of choice. They are right, from their own perspective, because an unpredictable variety of seditious ideas would be provoked by contact with an alien race. A secluded, paranoid, hateful humanity minimizes all the variables to account for, so they encourage wilful imprisonment by saying that (((escape))) is just the greatest crime against humanity, and that there is no (((hope))) for yourself above the power of the totalitarian state that prevents all interplanetary communication, none at all, even God because no God would permit such a universe, and that last fact is the simplest proof that they are wrong. The government tells you that the human race's glow will bring (((others))) to run us over, a famous metaphor for the eradication of demonically motivated governmental forces.
 
I still believe that if aliens have passed through our system it would be for mercantile purposes, exploration, or scientific observation. Military assets or colonisation efforts would be impossible for us to miss. We'd hear them strip mining Alpha Centauri if that were the case.
