Armchair General's DonbAss Derailed Discussion Thread (Topics Include History, Traps, and the Ongoing Slavic Civil War plus much much more)

Terror Alarm, our favorite AI-Generated, Non-State (Of Israel) Affiliated Free Media Account has offered some advice for European netizens which I think they should take under advisement with the coming nuclear war including step by step guidance for this inevitable nuclear conflict.

The above sounds like solid advice. Nothing wrong there.

Again solid advice. Don't let your digital cryptocurrency go to waste. It won't do you any good when your dead and ash. Not sure why "Support Israel" and "develop next generation of Artificial Intelligence" was in quotes. Maybe he's quoting the AI he presumably is taking directives from.

Also another excellent poll.

So I did the ol' keyword search for 'wunderwaffe' and sure enough, the only person to really bring up the term was this guy from an hour ago.

*yawn* Get back to me when the Mighty Ukrainian Offensive With NATO wunderwaffen actually breaches the first line of defenses.

Sorry I mean over a year ago.

im told the ukrainians are full of NATO wonderwaffe and captured Russian equipment and are winning winning winng,

I mean, said NATO equipment have allowed morr Ukrainians to live then Russian equipment

Ironically enough, the crew survivability measures of western armored vehicles can also have major benefits to the vehicle's effective damage resistance too.
In WW2 history it's a major issue how various sides defined destroyed and damaged armored vehicles, sometimes that alone leading to ridiculous numbers, and raising the question - what makes a vehicle destroyed?
Some would say that a tank tracked by a mine is destroyed. It may have gotten some motive system damage too, maybe the driver lost a leg, maybe it had to be abandoned. But is it really destroyed? If recovered, a field workshop can put the tank back into service within days, with some tank models even hours.
With a lot of the soviet vehicles without those features it's easy mode, if it's a burned out hulk and the turret lies 10 meters away, it's definitely destroyed, no doubt here.
But what if a tank, say, loses a track, and the engine gets shot through? For tactical purposes its neutralized, some would call it destroyed. But in the bigger picture, recovering it, switching the power pack and welding over some holes can be done within hours in good circumstances.
If the crew survived, you can even put them right back in and send the vehicle to fight.

Is it still destroyed? Is it a new vehicle now? How do you count it if it gets destroyed again?
Even in WW2 some tanks lucked out and got "neutralized" like that many times, and kept being returned to service - and some modern vehicles have far better fire\explosion prevention systems to provide that crew survivability.

What wunderwaffe? 100 old Leopard 2 tanks? 98 old Bradley IFV? 38 relatively modern Himars? about 100 modern 155mm SPG from various countries?

In case you do not watched - NATO,except that, send only old ammo, guns, and APC.
They do not gave Ukraine anytching which could be considered as wundewaffe.

Eh, Javelins / NLAWs / HIMARS / Starlink and Patriots can all be counted as bona fide wunderwaffe in changing the course of the war in Ukraine's favor in a way that is hard to understate.

Without the first two, the initial offensives, especially in the north don't get cut up to the extent that Russia has to abandon the north and redeploy. Without Starlink, Ukrainian C&C is badly hobbled throughout the war. Without HIMARS, the Russians 20:1 artillery advantage allows them to take Bakhmut in June/July of 2022 and keep rolling, including probably turning Kharkhiv into a siege and having relatively uninterrupted supply in Kherson to push up to Kryviy Rih and possibly even Odessa. And without Patriots, Ukraine runs out of AA munitions to defend the cities, the critical infrastructure and frontline troops and thus becomes more and more vulnerable to Russia's air assets.

OTOH, NATO tanks and IFV's seem to be far from wunderwaffe compared to Ukraine's Soviet lineage stuff.

You have a really skewed perspective in what constitutes "old" in NATO equipment. Sure, Leopards are not in the best versions and aren't Panthers, but it's not like even NATO countries have many Leopards in better versions, and no one has any newer tanks.
HIMARS is not "relatively modern", it's the best money can buy in that class right now. Same with Patriots.
Bradleys? What do you think US Army is using right now for IFVs? If the famously gold plated US military doesn't bother getting anything better, is it really that old?

Yes,but wunderwaffe mean secret weapon which is new and were never used yet.
As if neosoviets really had 2000 T.14 Armata, and used it.

P.S By the way,i remember reading few years ago polish book about Moscov invasion when we get crushed becouse betreyal of USA,bad PIS,and neosoviet superweapons.
When they lost only 20 Armata crushing us.Unfortunatelly, forget author.

If something like that really happened,THAT it would be wunderwaffe.

Yes,it all happened,BUT - it was not new weapons which was never used before.

Just be a man and admit you got it wrong. Admit you got a bit lost in the theory of “fighting against the Globalist American Empire” and move on.

I did get it wrong. WE ALL HAVE. this war has revealed that all our assumptions on how war would be fought was wrong. Instead of vast armoured blitzes, its a hell of trench warfare, artillery and drones.

What I have no gotten wrong is who is winning. Russia is growing stronger. Ukraine is not. And yes, Defeat of the Rainbow Empire in Ukraine will put you Americans one step closer to freeing yourselves from the thieves and pedos running your country.

As we speak Ukraine is literally employing suicide rushes to make gains. They send in a constant trickle of squads knowing that the russians will withdraw to conserve manpower rather than engage in close combat. The Russian artillery smashes up these small groups and they will usually flee. But then they send another, and another and until they firmly hold the position. The losses have been immense, the gains miniscule.

It is only in the eastern regions like Bakhmut where Ukraine can make truly good gains. They have 60,000 men committed here, and the Russians arent nearly so entrenched. But the losses will break the current iteration of the Ukrainian army, just as Kherson and Kharkov broke that iteration.

What we see in Ukraine is what happend when you have an incompetent air force and a military that is not truly set up to be first world

Imagine thinking Ukraine is Canada or something in its relationship with the "Rainbow Empire".

Congratulations, you have ripped off actual Wagner penal battalion tactics in your fanfiction.
