Admiral Kenneth Jackson - Solid performer and expert in Logistics; Tactics & Strategy win battles, but Logistics will win wars. Pretty solid choice. Though he won't have that something special those below him love to see.

Admiral Vanessa Jones - Not a great fit; not sure she'll be around long enough to really carry the load for us. I think leaving her in training command is best.

Admiral Joshua Castro - doesn't feel like he's got the seniority for the position honestly. I'd prefer him as a fleet CO not the Naval CiC.

Admiral Rachel Hebert - She doesn't feel like the right fit now either. I'd rather see her moved out of fortress command into a fleet command as well.

Admiral Frederick Fisher - I dearly want someone who's going to take the Navy to task for doctrinal fixation, and I like that he's willing to challenge the preconceptions. Frankly, we need him in the Navy, with some clout, but not in charge of it.

Admiral Fisher is right -- now that we've had a chance to examine actual SDLF WarShips and the considerably-less-redacted records from a certain museum ship, it has become very clear that the SLDF's reputation for qualitative superiority has always been something of a carefully managed stage production. In reality, SLDF ships are closer to armed merchant cruisers than "true" combat vessels, as they are built for wars of aggression and conquest over interstellar distances. Even accounting for the now-well-confirmed fact that their officially published stats are entirely fabricated, they are far less powerful than vessels that size "should" be because they devote absolutely insane amounts of their hull space to cargo bays.

Those Black Steel WarShips that are hammering our Navy? Over the centuries, they've been converted to what amount to actual combat WarShips that share little more than the base hulls as their SLDF counterparts. They're easily powerful enough to casually smack their SLDF counterparts at better than five-to-one odds, and this rises to "Your entire task force constitutes a warm-up for my flagship" level against the downgraded export variants that the SLDF condescended to allow the Great Houses to possess.

Our fleet doesn't just need to be better, our fleet needs to be built around an actual coherent naval doctrine, not just piecemeal optimization of individual ship classes. Also, speed is armor, speed is armor, we need faster WarShips!

We should voting because we literally just told we need to work on our designs and that’s what he wants to have done.

First, for the military, on top of researching even larger warships, we also would like to initiate a comprehensive study of the performance of our existing designs, with a focus on further improving our design philosophies for the future. We have reason to believe that our current design paradigms may not be fully ideal, as we are effectively building our warships much like the Star League did, as massive jump capable dropships with even bigger guns, rather than taking a clean sheet approach. I have some very eager researchers who’d like to see about changing that

While yes, logistics win wars and thus Kenneth Jackson would be a very good choice, the main issue is that our navy is apparently picking up the SLDF space fighting doctrine instead of trying to establish its own, which is a bad thing and needs to be corrected asap in order to become a spacefaring civilization that is unpredictable!
