Russian Invasion of Ukraine 2022

Anything short of direct military intervention yes. But yeah as Biden and others have said, no troops on the ground or anything.

Hopefully this is a wake up call for the rest of Europe and NATO to invest in defense as this pretty clearly points out there's a need for NATO. To think Russia wouldn't fabricate an excuse to invade any of its other neighbors is laughable at this point. The NATO security umbrella is probably the only thing protecting the Baltic States from Putin led "Denazification."

Good time to expand NATO as well. Hopefully Finland and Sweden are watching.
Sweden - maybe, Finland - probably not.
IMO President French Macaroni will demand we form a true EU, and that it buys French gear and is under overall french control.
I am pretty sure he has a case now that NATO is worse than useless and a more cohesive European Continental alliance is necessary.

Which means more taxes and inflation, fuck!

To be fair, we did try we just lost, see the bay of pigs invasion.
They did have a force ready to help out their guerillas, but the guerillas got routed in short order because they were infiltrated.
It was a literal slaughter, IIRC.

With Germany strongly signaling no interest in intervention that leaves the EU with what French troops? No way France takes it on the chin for a former Eastern Bloc country while German watches.

Again all from Twitter so take lightly...

Small protests in Russia and Russian forces moving through the Suny region of Ukraine, north of Kharkov.

Reported use of Javelin missiles on a Russian convoy in the same region. And a river Operation in Kherson on the Dnieper River.

And a traffic map of the roads around Kiev.

Reportedly Fighting in Chernobyl!!!

Oryx is attempting to catalog (Russian) losses in the Invasion so far.

Any reports of the Ukrainian forces forward deployed withdrawing yet? With all the airmobile assaults taking place it I'm thinking the Ukraine won't be able to mobilize. I know they had limited reserve call ups but that was only a couple days ago. If the Ukraine is to hold together until Biden wakes up from his nap, they need those formed up troops.

Biden already did what he said he was gonna do. He slapped on some more sanctions, then went back to his nap.

But seriously, if Russian VDV airborne assets have been deployed they’re likely going to use some of those assets to attempt to cut off any retreat by forward deployed Ukrainian elements or cut off supply routes, at least that’s theoretically how some of them would have been used if the Cold War had gone hot.

He is probably in the basement under the oval office replica sound stage, cowering and trying to figure what to do when the Russians get their hands on all the dirt on him and son still rolling around in Ukraine.

My point exactly. 1400 people with WW2 gear. That makes the Donbass separatists' "People's Militia" look like an army group.
The Donbass people's militia might have bought that gear though.

That area still holds a lot of industry, and the Don basin was renowned for high-quality coal deposits and production.

Well fuck, if they air bridge in heavy armor I don't think Kiev has any good answers.
One does not air bridge in any meaningful amounts of heavy armor, and even then not quickly, even USA doesn't have the airlift capacity to consider that worthwhile.

>may have bought
