Not illegal, according to international law combatants can seek refuge in neutral countries, being interned for the duration of conflict. Iraq for example sent much of their air force to Iran in 1991, pilots were returned after the war.
While being actively pursued? I know you can intern your self, I just don't think it can be done in the middle of a dog fight.

Pictures of a captured Russian BMP crew.

Video of an aircraft presumably shot down over Kiev.

Video of a downed Russian Ka-52 Helicopter near the Antonov Intl Airport in the suburbs of Kiev.

Also several abandoned or destroyed tanks, reportedly T-64's, in the Kherson region near Crimea.

Also more government sanctioned memes/reality!

Keep in mind this is from Twitter and so take lightly.

The Tanks are Ukrainian I think.

Russia is mopping up Ukraine in short order, just like Putin said it would years ago.I think he said 18 hours back when all the allegations of the Russian army being in Ukraine began in 2014/2015.

Interesting, it looks like the Russians are taking losses for pushing as hard as they have. Though, no major losses reported on either side that I can see. That there are already defectors from the Ukraine in the first day of fighting is not a good sign though.

Also, I'm curious on how just a single BMP got captured like that. Forward scout? Lost?

Losses were inevitable, this the most equal battle in a war since forever, not the usual curbstomp we’ve had in recent years.
Tough Ukrainian have been VERY tight lipped about their losses.

So you were basically intentionally lying and gaslighting for the past few months?
What few months, I am here for Lass than 2.

Also, I don't think you get what he said.

Basically he was saying that if he really wanted to invade he can curbstomp Ukraine in a day, and that the accusations were bullshit exactly because of that.

Look right or wrong, the Russians are invading Ukraine. Should the US intervene? Maybe, it debatable and honestly has nothing to do with how legal or justified the Russian invasion is. But, and it’s a big but, Biden can't even mange going up stairs. There is no way I trust that man to properly manage a military intervention against the closest thing to a peer military the US has.

Anything short of direct military intervention yes. But yeah as Biden and others have said, no troops on the ground or anything.

Hopefully this is a wake up call for the rest of Europe and NATO to invest in defense as this pretty clearly points out there's a need for NATO. To think Russia wouldn't fabricate an excuse to invade any of its other neighbors is laughable at this point. The NATO security umbrella is probably the only thing protecting the Baltic States from Putin led "Denazification."

Good time to expand NATO as well. Hopefully Finland and Sweden are watching.

Finland literally said "we will join NATO if there is risk on our borders"
So yeah, and this is why I feel like people think NATO is useless, but notice they attacked a non NATO country

That was proxy warfare only, with a freaking militia at that.
No USMC storming the island with carrier and battleship support though, which would be the equivalent of what Russia is doing now.
It was proxy military to start, and the plan was military follow up the plan was canceled when the rebels we sponsored were defeated immediately Russia started with rebels as well in 2014 although rather than send the military immediately after a beachhead they waited for 6 years.

So what are the odds nukes are going to get involved and and we are all going to die?

Why uncork the nukes? We’re nowhere at that threshold yet. If Putin drops a nuke on Ukraine it defeats the purpose of conventional mass invasion, tells the whole world the Russians couldn’t pull it off, and pisses off the rest of the world, including ethnic Russians no less even further.

If for some idiot reason Putin decides to start something nuclear with the West…well, everyone has a good guess how that turns out.
