Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times said Biles failed as a gymnast:
Column: Simone Biles excels as a human being but fails as a gymnast
I was kinda happy that this seemed to be the one place discussing the Olympics without bringing up Simone Biles yet. I'll be honest, I was OVER the constant discussions about Simone Biles walking out a few days ago in team competition but literally everyone on social media and the television was talking about her constantly. What was worse is that Simone Biles stated part of the reason was the pressure of being placed as the 'superstar' of the US Olympic Team or whatever... and so everyone KEPT talking about Simone Biles even more. Let give it a break everyone, there's other people in the Olympics FFS.
Thankfully the spotlight seems to finally being moving off of her thanks to the strong performances by the rest of the team.
Simone Biles' choice doesn't make her heroic or cowardly. She's a human being who apparently made the right choice if her head wasn't in the game and she couldn't perform her best.
