Star Wars Zachowon's The Book of Boba Fett Thread

Watched Episode 2 last night.

Not bad, but still taking its sweet time building up to whatever climax it has in store. (The action scenes kept me entertained, too.) I am, however, starting to wonder if the whole "surreality" of last night's episode will become a trend. In any case, interested in where the writers go with this and have decided to keep watching.

Boba referred to these as dreams, so in the end while this could be just a framing device for remembering the past it also could be embellished to whole cloth fabrications of his imagination meant to "mean something". By calling them dreams he signals he is an unreliable "narrator" of these events so YMMV on anything that is presented as the past.

I liked the second episode a lot more then the first. This Dances with Tuskens storyline is so engaging that it can only end in sadness ofc. So I'm on board.

Still annoyed at how smug or stupid everyone acts when confronting Boba Fett. It's almost cringe.

I'm guessing it'll be revealed that he's suffering from some sort of degenerative condition since he's obviously weaker now then he was with the Tuskens or the last season of Mandalorian.

really loved the second episode. I'm going against the popular grain and say I'm glad they don't show main charecters as these invincable super soldiers. That was one thing from the PT and EU that IMO somewhat harmed storytelling in star wars. , the galaxy, especially the outer rim should be a danger enough place that even if your someone like Boba Fett or Darth Vader one bad day can cost you and really mess you up. (Now if only they could make stormtroopers competent again)

Also props to the writers for using real world inspiration for making the Tuskens one of the most sympathetic races in star wars.

Cleeve Lars: They walk like men, but they are monsters. ( 🎶 They're savages! Savages! Barely even human!🎶)

John Favreau: Ah but the world is never that black and white.

this makes Anakin did and Episode II look even worse. I was once in the camp of "Anakin mishandled himself but given the circumstances it was understandable." to "Holy Crap Obi-Wan I think you're looking back at things with rose colored glasses. Anakin was a monster even back then. Also what the heck were you thinking marrying this dude padme?

Also Boba Fett may not consider himself a mandalorian but I'm pretty the Armorer and Jaster Mareel would say otherwise after seeing what he's doing on tatooine. He's teaching a tribe of Tuskens his ways and he's trying to bring a sense of honor to an unjust and unlawful part of the galaxy. This is indeed the way.

I have barely any sympathy towards the tuskens, considering what they did to Shimi was routine. The sins of a long-dead empire are not the fault of those living in the present, yet they blame the farmers all the same.

had he killed the warriors responsible that'd be one thing. but the fact that he committed genocide afterwards went WAY TOO FAR! Also we don't know if that was routine for all the tribes.

Seems pretty apparent there are multiple tribes of Tuskens as of Episode II as the Tuskens Chief of this one literally said some tribes are just killers.

Course they all look the same to offworlders like us.

I think it's less 'Dances with Wolves' and more 'Lawrence of Arabia' they are going for, though the two situations share some overlapping themes.

People forget that Tusken's took shots at Anakin during his podraces, so it wasn't like he didn't have old beef with the even before they grabbed Shmi.

Most people on Tatoonie probably would have given Anakin a medal for what he did to that tribe.

The tribe Boba is with seems less...belligerent that the one that ambushed Luke and Artoo in ANH, or the ones that shot at podracers in Phantom Menace.

Put yourself in Anakins shoes. If a tribe of people tortured your mother to death basically. Would you react rationally or would you go Full on Super Saiyan on their asses. Most of us would go the latter.

I mean the locals also were not fond of Tusken's either; just look at the Pike's reaction to even sighting a camp of their's. Anakin would have been a hero to Tatooine if he ever told the locals what happened.

And like the Hutts, the Pike's are old players on Tatooine.

Few who had to live on Tatooine long term ever had much love or sympathy for the Tusken's.

There was only one EU reference to off-Tatooine Tusken's in KOTOR, which was a tribe kidnapped/slaved and taken offworld. They had feline features, similar to Catians' from Trek, but more like a lynx than a housecat.

Old EU also had that Jawa's were more rodent like, accounting for the diverging evolution betwen them and the Tusken's after the Rakatain glassing.

Late to announce it, but watched Episode 3 myself.

Now we’re starting to get somewhere, with Boba recruiting more manpower and the Pykes soon to come out to play. All in all, I’m very interested in where they go with this.

I know some hated them, but I liked the swoop bikes. It's a nice throwback to American Graffiti. chase scene could have been done better but I still liked it. and come on we got Machete as a rancor keeper. how do you top that? Also, nice to see the rancor be built up as a noble dragonlike creature again and not just a grotesque mini boss. You can tell Boba will treat a lot better than Jabba did.

Yeah, I think Boba will be nicer and “more noble” than Jabba ever was in general.

He’s already been lenient and forgiving where his former boss would’ve just disposed of the offending party, so…

The swoop bikes were like space Vespas. Boba recruited a scooter gang.

Yeah the Space Vespa Power Rangers were pretty cringe and that speeder chase scene had a really weird tempo and flow. Super slow and some janky special effects.

I thought their design was pretty balls as well. I was expecting something more Mad Max or Conan style. Those kids look like they deserve to be parked out front in Dex's Diner on Coruscant or some crap.

With that said I do like how they are basically all in for Boba Fett as soon as he recruits them. The character designs are lame but it's not all bad.

On the other hand hearing Danny Trejo talk about Dathomir and Rancors was great. I could listen to him breakdown Star Wars lore all day.

Danny Trejo being the rancor trainer was one of the best parts of the series so far.

Though I'll echo that I found the swoop/Vespa bike gang to be underwhelming in their chase scene. They proved somewhat useful against Krrsantan, but even then they seemed kinda...unserious.

Like, why knife him in the ribs in surprise, when the Wookie's neck was wide open?
