China Wuhan Virus Pandemic

Well there is (was) a corona virus patient at a hospital in the city of Pensacola Florida and I live there.
As of March 6th the patient died. He was in his 70's and no news if he's been in contact with anyone else. Yay!
I guess we can put Corona virus dot in Pensacola, Florida.

Honestly, speaking as someone who is in a hospital that has COVID patients, 2 weeks of mandatory quarantine sounds pretty good
 
So Colorado is up to 8 cases now, in it sounds like 3 separate clusters/incidents.

One of them was in the ski areas of Summit country so who's knows how many were exposed up there. The newest is a middle-schooler who just got back from international travel, so one middle school in Douglas county has had to cancel gatherings.

Mortality rates continue to hold steady within a .5% range. Mortality continues, at least outside of China, to be an old people's disease, with nearly all of the dead having pre-existing conditions that significantly increased vulnerability to any sort of respiratory ailment. Average age of death outside of China and Iran continues to hover around 80.

Im kinda worried about hospitals being overloaded , since the flu is still going on along side the coronavirus.

I think that's only a matter of time. I've already seen things about mask stockpiles being dangerously low.

National Jewish Respiratory Hospital here in Denver already had a theft occur that took most of their mask supply.
 
Any idea how long the Corona Virus will last? I don’t like having to hear about it mentioned so frequently back home or wherever I go

I maybe rather Asocial, but I like to walk around a mall every now and then and one of my favorite restraurants had to be stopped due to Corona virus

Confirmed deaths outside of China - 484 (71 new)

Mortality rates remaining constant, with China's inching up slightly mostly due to how few new cases are being reported compared to deaths. Mortality rates outside of China are actually slightly declining.

Death and infection rates are actually below those that would be classified as a 'moderate' flu season. Note that this is RATES, not absolute numbers, the total numbers are not even in the same ballpark.

So far the pattern to the numbers outside of China most closely match H1N1, which was a previous overhyped plague scare.
