I saw a comparison between infection numbers for Germany(March 1st-8th) and Italy(February 22nd-29th). Plot them and the curves almost overlap each other.

Nope, we arnt even wearing gas masks. It is optional to wear the medical like masks and all that, but most if not all dont care because it is useless if you are not sick. We are also in a Smog filled country because of China so the air quality is bad as is...

It's a requirement to wear masks where I work.

But since you mentioned the smog, I'm more than convinced enough to wear it there to not breathe shitty air that can damage my lungs in the long term.

As a note, it appears that the sudden market drop has more to do with the Saudi Crown Prince deciding to start dumping big chunks of their oil reserve onto the market. Speculation is that this is intended primarily to undercut the Russian oil industry and drive the Iranians broke, with a secondary effect of maybe slowing the Frakking boom.

Interestingly, this should actually help with the long term effects of the Corona Virus economic problem.

So the Coronavirus is causing a supply shortage (think 70's oil embargo) instead of a demand shortage (think great recession). This means that the usual response of a Keynesian stimulus would be horribly counter productive right now (It was tried in response to the oil embargo, and everything went even worse). But the lowering of oil prices could blunt the impact of the coronavirus by making production cheaper. I'm not sure if it will work entirely, but it should help.

Mortality rates continues to remain steady, with a slight increase in average age of death for those who do succumb. As before, pre-existing respiratory or coronary conditions appear to be the single greatest indicator of need for hospitalization, extreme treatment, or death.
 
For those who don't know, Metatron is a Youtube uploader who often covers topics in regards to ancient Rome, Japan, medieval weapons and armor and tactics, etc. I particularly enjoy his videos and highly recommend him. Sadly, he appears to have contracted the virus. He presents some very good points in this video:



I hope he gets better, and soon. But please take to heart what he says, there is a lot of things getting said out there now, and the truth often lies in the middle. Don't underestimate this virus, take sensible precautions, but don't panic, and don't live in fear either.
 
So a HEMA Youtuber named Metatron is currently under quarantine in Italy but not in one of the 'Red Zones.' It's apparently most likely he has a non-Coronavirus version of the flu however since he suspects he contracted it on a flight from New York back to Europe.



He had some firsthand insights however related to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy. Mainly...

- Though he asked for a testing if he had the Coronavirus, it was declined. Apparently they only bother testing people with respiratory complications or potentially if they are from a 'Red Zone.'
- Even in Red Zones, the quarantine is apparently far from strict. He even mentions young people flouting the quarantine and meeting others in public even for events mockingly dubbed 'Coronavirus' parties.
