That is hilarious. And they seem to be mixing up Black People with Australian aborigines. Just, because they have similar skin tones does not make them alike. Are they being racist? Outside of the whole white/human privilege & ancestral sin stuff, it’s already been sorta part of her character to be better than her asshole of a father who made lots of enemies by resorting to corrupt practices unlike Nicholas Schnee

One thing I’ve tried pointing out again and again, is that the “we live in a society” in, is again, surprisingly and very tolerant and apathetic towards whether you’re a Faunus or not

Faunus are sitting next to humans, no problem. Faunus are part of your military and law enforcement. Faunus go to the same important hunter/huntress schools as humans. Faunus are even the headmasters of said hunter/huntress schools.

Also, they allowed in a large number of Faunus civvies to come in and stop the White Fang

Closest thing to oppression at this point any of them in-universe really face is Jacques Schnee being an exploitative boss who doesn’t do better workplace environments and for whatever the reason branded Adam Taurus’ eye

That the employee(s) in question came from the wilderness and they decided to resort to the sort of frontier justice they practised back home. Pretty sure in a world like Remnant, outside the cities, pilfering resources like Dust would be a serious offense.

I am talking about how they punish thieves. I am thinking the brand was for something else, and they decided to get "creative" with it. You know, they did brand thieves in the past, and that people from rougher parts of Remnant might not be too cuddly when it comes to crime and punishment.

I was thinking the branding might be to actually brand products, and someone decided to use it like that, because of their own cultural biases. That works too. Was thinking of alternate explanations that would make more sense in universe, though I am pretty sure we both are trying to puzzle through that.
