It is. Girls love the PC Master Race... Especially in comparison to immature console gamers with their Nintendo's and Playstations and Xboxes and Uhhh ummm Segas.

But seriously I misread your post for a moment and it gave me a true lol moment after some pontification. :p

Honestly, don’t own a PC, never have, but I can understand the love for it

Can’t install MODS to make things way better without one

And too many games can’t be done with STEAM and can only be used with windows, even

So, popping in for discussion here, but Order of the Stick is another casualty.

I can't say it has gone woke all of a sudden, or that this last comic (#1202) is the straw that broke the camel's back. It's been a long process where the comic has slowly gotten more woke and less funny.

Used to be background stuff that you could ignore, like Rich Burlew beclowning himself in the forum or in the author's notes to his books. But in the last book, it crept into the story, starting with a side character saying "by the way, I am a LESBIAN!" At the same time that Haley her past immaturity and sexualized dress "seemed like a good idea at the time." Yes, Rich Burlew was apologizing for sexualizing a stick figure.

What followed was a book that... Just wasn't funny. It had its high points, and those points were really high. It also had low points that dragged on and on. The whole subplot about flying through the mountain pass could have been cut from the story entirely, and I doubt anybody would have complained. And the main story arc is... Don't get me wrong, Durkon converting a vampire through the power of emotional turmoil and understanding was one of the best moments in the comic, and the reveal about the true nature of reality was one of the biggest curve balls this story has yet thrown. But it's wrapped up in a plodding story arc that isn't just tedious, it feels preachy. If you are a Resistance! type who thinks Donald Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the election and that the electoral college is just an outdated legal technicality, then Utterly Dwarfed was for you.

It's not fair to say that it was entirely humorless. There was one moment with a herd of chaos giraffes that had me laughing as hard as "Stop oppressing my culture you ethnocentric bitch!". The humor was just thinner, and the character arcs were flatter, and the characters themselves just don't have much chemistry anymore. All that was left was the Order interacting with one-off characters rather than each other, and mindnumbingly bad feminist messaging.

I guess what prompted this rant is this dialogue in the latest comic, which was probably supposed to be a joke but just made the alpha male leader of the Order look like a BuzzFeed writer with a major in gender studies:
Haley: "Wow, [Wind Walk] is amazing! We're like genies!"
Roy: "Ooo, uh, actually Celia says that word's not cool. Apparently it has its roots in the lamp-based oppression of people of vapor."

I suppose I should count myself lucky that most of that went over my head when I read it, though now whenever I pick the comic back up, I'm probably going to be scrutinizing the messaging a bit more closely; thanks for that, by the way.

Gods of Egypt?

Did anyone watch this movie and did y'all like it? I thought it was decent enough. Maybe a step below the original Pirates of the Caribbean or John Carter but a step above it's fifteen sequels.

I will say that it's unfortunate that Gods of Egypt probably sank Alex Proyas' career as a big movie Director and the twitter rage his film got for not having Black enough casting because it takes place in 'fantasy Egypt' was pretty pathetic both for the assumption of Black Egypt and the fact that it takes place in fantasy Egypt on a giant flat Earth and despite all that, there was a fair bit of color tossed into the cast regardless including the smartest God in the pantheon.

And of course most of the critics of his film completely ignoring the fact that Alex Proyas' was born in Egypt and while he left at the age of three, many of his family members lived there for generations prior and lived there before (and yet shockingly Alex Proyas isn't Black... weird...) and while the movie was a Box Office Bomb... it did give us this amazing career ending Facebook rant about how craven Film Critics actually are.

NOTHING CONFIRMS RAMPANT STUPIDITY FASTER...
Than reading reviews of my own movies. I usually try to avoid the experience - but this one takes the cake. Often, to my great amusement, a critic will mention my past films in glowing terms, when at the time those same films were savaged, as if to highlight the critic's flawed belief of my descent into mediocrity. You see, my dear fellow FBookers, I have rarely gotten great reviews… on any of my movies, apart from those by reviewers who think for themselves and make up their own opinions. Sadly those type of reviewers are nearly all dead. Good reviews often come many years after the movie has opened. I guess I have the knack of rubbing reviewers the wrong way - always have. This time of course they have bigger axes to grind - they can rip into my movie while trying to make their mainly pale asses look so politically correct by screaming "white-wash!!!” like the deranged idiots they all are. They fail to understand, or chose to pretend to not understand what this movie is, so as to serve some bizarre consensus of opinion which has nothing to do with the movie at all. That’s ok, this modern age of texting will probably make them go the way of the dinosaur or the newspaper shortly - don't movie-goers text their friends with what they thought of a movie? Seems most critics spend their time trying to work out what most people will want to hear. How do you do that? Why Rotten Tomatoes of course. Lock a critic in a room with a movie no one has even seen and they will not know what to make of it. Because contrary to what a critic should probably be they have no personal taste or opinion, because they are basing their views on the status quo. None of them are brave enough to say “well I like it” if it goes against consensus. Therefore they are less than worthless. Now that anyone can post their opinion about anything from a movie to a pair of shoes to a hamburger, what value do they have - nothing. Roger Ebert wasn’t bad. He was a true film lover at least, a failed film-maker, which gave him a great deal of insight. His passion for film was contagious and he shared this with his fans. He loved films and his contribution to cinema as a result was positive. Now we have a pack of diseased vultures pecking at the bones of a dying carcass. Trying to peck to the rhythm of the consensus. I applaud any film-goer who values their own opinion enough to not base it on what the pack-mentality say is good or bad.

Then again while not a huuuuge fan of film critics, most of my ire is for the standard Twitter mob of small minded reactionaries.

Question, to begin with, in modern day or even relatively recent Egyptian history, how much of its population was even black instead of middle eastern looking?

There's more sub-Saharan genes in Egypt now then in Ancient times apparently. And they ain't exactly Black (looking outwardly) currently.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
Oddly, from reviews I've seen, it wasn't actually that SJW. But the marketing was, which killed it. No idea what's up with Rose, though.
I felt it had to do with the trouble she had in the set. One time she had an accident did she not?

She very nearly was left paralyzed for life, and given that - combined with all the flak she got and the abysmal ratings - she most likely wisely decided to get the hell out of Dodge while she still could. Can't really blame her. I mean, she was even criticized for 'not being gay enough', can you imagine that?

So bad even the actor wanted to GTFO?

If she's still living in Australia, flying to Vancouver every so often and having to live there could just be something she doesn't want to do for half of her life for the next couple years. Plus it's not like Ruby Rose couldn't do other stuff... she's a ferly popular actress. Obviously not A-list but she has some strong name and face recognition and stuff and could be doing other things.

Majority still won't pay to see your shitty movie Feig.

He's still(!) unwilling to accept the fact that he made himself a cheap hack with his lame 2016 movie.

It might have worked better for him if he had just made his own "girls vs ghosts" movie that paid homage to the original Ghostbuster film, instead of stomping on it. But it looks like he was content to take orders from Sony if the leaked/hacked emails are any indication.

He could make an all female ghost busters team but he has to not be a hack.

It could've easily worked just put them in Chicago or wherever. Then have bill Murray at the beggining setting them up as a "Ghostbuster franchise." For good measure talk about other franchises(say Dallas and Seattle) throughout the film. Maybe even have them consult another group for advice or whatever. It really wouldn't have been that hard to make work.

Seriously; looking at this guy's creative output, it's obvious what he actually wants to make.
