Star Wars Who would have been the best Jedi Master to train Anakin?

Tyzuris

Primarch to your glory& the glory of him on Earth!
I would nominate Master Windu considering he's had experiences with the Dark Side and with his style of using the Force (Vapaad) without falling to the Dark Side, he'd have been the best in guiding Anakin over his Dark Side temptations.

That is a good pick.

I myself would want Qui Gon Jinn because of his willingness to break the jedi code yet stay light or Dooku from before his fall to the dark side because of he was through with his training and discipline.

But Mace is definitely a solid choice, and I like your reasoning. 9/10, would read a fic about that.

The problem with Anakin is that he was something vastly different than anyone the Jedi trained before, and Qui-Gon Jinn is probably the best equipped out of the various Jedi due to the fact that he is one of the few in either canon to have any sort of experience of handling someone like Anakin (i.e. not found at birth).

Mace might be a good choice, but it might just make things worse.

In the end, it is only really Qui-Gon that has some of the tools necessary to even have a hope of keeping Anakin in the light.

Weird option: Plo Koon

Plo is a warrior jedi who I think would be more forgiving of anakins.... combative tendencies... while also tempering down the negative impulses. Also Koon is a master pilot, a universally respected master and watching him interact with other headstrong apprentices (Ashoka) he’s extremely patient yet unyielding.

I think that having Plo Koon or Mace as master misses the key issue that helped start Anakin on a dark path: worry for his mother.

That's why I think one of the Corellian Jedi, such as Neeja Halcyon, would have been a better bet. They wouldn't have left Anakin's mother as a slave, and wouldn't have been so hidebound compared to the Courscant temple.

That only works in Legends, not the Disney canon.

... so you'll have that problem anyway.

...that's not Luke though.
Given that Luke is human and due to himself, things beyond his control, the Force, and a few other things, he became dissolutioned. Remember, Luke had been down that road in Legends as well during the entire Dark Empire saga (if I remember right).
Anyone who isn't... an idiot? I guess?

"Hey literally all the masters sense grave danger from this guy, lets not take ten seconds out of our busy lives to buy his mother out of slavery, and lets send him on a Sex Vacation with a woman he openly admitted to dreaming about since childhood."
Actually that is what happened in one fanfic where a... Jedi psychologist (I think) told the Council that s/he recommended that they get Anakin's mother out of slavery or face horrible consequences for it which leads to the Jedi buying the freedom of Anakin's mother and set her up on Corusant with a job at the Temple... which does a derail of Palpy's plans (although Palpy does Xanatos Speed Chess with the derails)...

Wasn't the failure of the jedi institutional rather than personal? Obiwan may have been young, but his bond of friendship with Anakin probably was as good as it gets. Where the Jedi fail is that they took a traumatized slave boy from the Rim away from his mother (even though they would have had all the power in the galaxy to free her as well), obviously didn't give him any sort of counseling, then snubbed him lateron, and then were all super surprised when he snapped... Lads, you failed your perception checks, rolling consecutive 1s.

you mean that story that A. Had a shit ton more time devoted to Luke getting less bright and B. was still terrible?
But- But- world devastators. Something something rogue squadron.

Diddnt you always dream of seeing a battle between the emperor trying to take a nap on a bench and Leia throwing an air conditioner at him?
