Leaving aside certain quirks of game mechanics (Like A cat being able to reliably kill a man), Imagine four strongly built farmers with Spears, Crossbows or slings, and maces (Common weapons, every peasant is proficient with one weapon). Remember also that people in DnD are supposedly tall, well fed, and strong compared to RL medieval european people (I believe one book mentions in flavor text that the average man is 5'10, which would be tall for *today*), and that virtually everyone in Anime is based on Japanese heights, i.e. manlets.
That actually is funny as hell, especially the manlet bit. Now I am just imaging them utterly breaking a setting, because of them actually being unnaturally strong for it. I guess even with bounded accuracy 5e adventuring parties would go, "HAHAHAHAHA, XP pinatas, go pop!"
Now a Paragon Commoner would be even more hilarious, given the stat boosts, I can imagine Goblins shrieking in terror when they hear the infamous battle cry, "it is almost harvesting season." And then they are killed brutally with farming implements, and then he slowly moves up the ladder destroying everything making the setting crappy, and then retires to a farm and watches the sun set over a grateful realm.
