How come the other places weren't a fit for you?

Let’s just say I got pretty annoyed by all the “Always-Punch-A-Nazi” stuff when knowing they were almost always referring to people they simply declare to be Nazi’s and also ridicule anyone complaining

I agree on both counts. Well not the second part of the trap thing, but to each their own. And of course the punch-a-nazi thing is just code for people, it also counts for newspaper dispensers, trash cans, shop windows, etc.

And wouldn't technically the mindset of "trap" being a "slur" be a microaggression under their own ideology, since they are assuming the gender of the people in question. Since, as I gather such characters would identify as male...

Calling people fascists maybe among some corners when really they should just be calling them reactionaries is a thing.

Nazi's deserve to get punched if they're stupid enough to believe that in the modern age.

Yeah, kinda why if I ever write a Worm fic it will involve Mama Mathers and the rest of The Fallen having to deal with an army of robots slaughtering them all and/or “pacifying” their Master-Type Parahumans and publically humiliating them while depowering them(Also if ever wrote a Marvel fic, it would involve an army of robots also attacking any Anti-Mutant Groups on the basis of them being dangerous morons and robots are better than humans anyway)

That said, that really was what I gleamed from many Worm fics using the E88(actual NeoNazi’s but still used as a warning to bash anyone they consider remotely Alt-Right)

The thing is, once you make the syllogism If Somebody Is Called A Nazi = They Must Be Punched, then it becomes a very short step to I Don't Like Your Opinion = You Are A Nazi = You Must Be Punched. When you create such a potent societal weapon expect it to be used. And it won't be the reasonable people using it, it won't be those who argue or debate in good faith who use it, it will be used by the worst of demagogues in the worst of ways.

That, for example, is why our rules explicitly ban pro-Nazi support... while also making it against the rules to falsely or lightly accuse somebody of BEING a Nazi.

I only registered yesterday but I’m sorta liking this place already, hopefully I don’t abandon it for near similar reasons as SB, SV, QQ and AltHisto

That said, gotta ask, why exactly was this place founded and why does it look to have so many people around already?

It was founded to allow a place for free, frank, and civil discussions between people from across the political spectrum and modeled in large part on old school SB.

As for why it was founded? Because SB does not allow free and frank discussion of contentious topics, punishes wrong think, and has a staff that is perfectly happy to thought police and make up rules to get the outcomes in discussions that they want. SV is a lawyer RP that, politically and in terms of rules enforcement, makes SB look sane. QQ has their Rule 8. And AltHistory is Ian's little insanity playground.

Now for why we got a ton of people? Well that is what happens when SB proves itself actively hostile to a large swath of its user base and the SB Mods and Admins actively break their own rules to allow harassment of said users. Well that and we started with a large number of prominent people from SB (and a few other places) involved.

Speaking of AltHisto, ironically I only ever had ONE experience with Ian and that was him saying “No, I won’t EVER put in a Reader Mode because its so hard changing things” most of my reason to leave was CalBear suddenly appearing repeatedly

Well, glad to say it’s nice to see that this place really isn’t exactly as one sided as those forums I mentioned even if on the other side(though I think we’re considered as being on “the other side” by default)

Like, a narrow horizontal crop of the faces of the dudes at the table in Ilya Repin's Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks, with The Sietch in a Medieval typeface in light saffron with black outline or something. As I said on SpaceBattles when asked about it, it's Keiichi Morisato from the Ah My Goddess TV anime. It's from a brief imagine spot of his during the first episode. It's not really characteristic of him, but I thought it was funny and appropriately nutso-looking for this place.

I was wondering if it was tied into the "catgirl genocide" thing, because while they can be overdone, I like some catgirl characters (Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet, Y'shtola from Final Fantasy XIV).
