Science We need a new nuclear age

...Fucking why?

Okay, I get that several industries would be destroyed, and that'd affect a fraction of the population's jobs and income, but are those the only real reasons?

Have you ever talked to an environmentalist activist I mean really talked to them?

And not the normal ones I mean the hard core people who devote their lives to it.

Here's a secret its not that they love the environment its that they hate people.

The sheer lack of interest in nuclear power is frustrating. I mean, for a country like Britain, if we invested in that then our energy problems are effectively solved. I'm not even putting a "for the next thousand years" on that, as nuclear stuff lasts forever. Atop that, Britain would never again need to depend on oil rich countries for supply, thus we could finally cut ties with the fucking Saudis.

Aside from concerns over the political fallout of making oil irrelevant, I see absolutely no reason for not going nuclear.

Nuclear plants being built in areas that are not known for being prone to natural disasters would be appealing. However, we might have to take into account the number of people that work inside the nuclear power plant and their exposure to radiation too. Other than that, I’d have no problem riding a bus or driving a car if it was nuclear powered.

Nuclear plants are surprisingly safe when it comes to ambient radiation levels: the French government, for example, only pays people extra to live in the "vicinity" of a nuclear plant because the cultural idea of nuclear power was poisoned long ago by numbskulls thinking anything related to nuclear technologies = apocalypse waiting to happen (or are backed by the oil industries).

Nuclear powered cars... We are going to make fallout irl huh? Jokes aside I suspect the real reason for the anti nuclear is to do with OPEC countries like Arabia funding every anti nuclear group they can and the US and other major powers not wanting everyone to potentially have access to weapons grade materials.

California-based TAE Technologies and Japan's National Institute for Fusion Science claim success testing new fuel cycle, opening door to cleaner, lower cost energy than produced by conventional deuterium-tritium-based process

The new process is a boron-H2 fuel, which is a non-radioactive fuel, and is another 'field-reversed' design.

All that chinese money to convince people that only shitty ass wind turbines and solar panels can somehow provide enough energy is gonna dry up.
Wind turbines which are actually more harmful to the planet, given the gasses used in the turbine are harmful to the atmosphere, are released during a breakdown, doesn't recoup the net negative carbon cost of producing them, and the blades themselves don't breakdown/rot -- they're literally dumped in a landfill. :ROFLMAO:

Tl:dr Nuclear related deaths are miniscule compared to "Green energy" and even fossil fuels. Seriously what the heck is society doing?

A bunch of rich people who control your lives daily, realized they could get environmentalists to petition against nuclear energy because cheap, reliable, and functionally free energy is something the average joe could use to pull their lives out of the shitter.

I envy the day when environmentalists realize that the people who own the 'green energy' companies suspiciously all have massive petroleum portfolios and all rally against Nuclear as well.

It does depend on the type of wind turbine ...

The windmills made of wood, stone, and cloth sails like what one sees in the old scenic paintings found in museums are quite green. They, however, aren't going to generate much electrical power if you were to attempt use one to drive a generator.
