Warhammer Warhammer General discussion thread: Now with 100% more Space Marines

Guess who learned that you can save time by glueing parts of your minis before spraying and painting them? This guy.
Man, I could've saved so much time doing that rather than spray-painting each individual part...

Wow!
You do not assemble before painting?!?
Yeah. See, I was starting with a Necron warrior squad of 12 units plus two scarab swarms. Old box from my aunt, God bless her soul. I figured since the spray will cover every thing I'd assemble the parts just afterwards. Which made the whole take longer than it needed too. All because the necron warriors have these green plastic sticks for their cannons.

Oh well, I will get my Necron army sooner or later.

Baby Boy said - good price for a solid game.
He bought it some time ago and plays occasionally.
Got it, tried it, dunno.

It has mo multiplayer and is squad based, which means being social...

In any case, I was the lowest of the damned team I got int after I finished the tutorial, and Thorsten damned it, I was dying the least.

Hey, see these two I am trying to revive, see that sniper trying to shoot me, wanna suppress him or try and take him out, naah, it is gonna be fine!

The son likes to play the ogryn.
Isn't there single player, with the others being bots? So you don't have to force yourself to interact with people?

Yeah, if no one joins it is me and other bots but there is no single player as per se.
Looks like a fun little game though, I was looking for a WF replacement for a while now.

The graphics and audio are quite good, though.

I am not sorry for the purchase.

Having watched that I have to wonder if the Old Ones left a surprise in the DNA of the planets they seeded. The Elder things did and it allowed them to take over the mind of any race that was descended from their experiments...like all life on Earth.

I’d honestly make the argument that you probably should take that approach with some models.

Painting before assembling allows for better detail work, especially in the little nooks and crannies in the joint areas of some units or around the pauldrons of others.

Kharne, for example, is an absolute pain to paint when fully assembled due to the amount of overlap on his model. There’s some areas you just can’t really get to well if you attach the arms to the chest before painting.

This doesn’t really matter if you just want to get an army ready for the tabletop as quickly as possible, but if you want to do a lot of fine detail work I’d say it’s a must to paint piecemeal.

Slapchop is definitely the best method for getting an army ready for game time though.
