Fun fact most pirates who wore eye patches still had thier eye. They would wear the patch to keep one eyes dark vision intact in case they had to fight below deck.

It's also important to remember that a decent chunk (if not the vast majority) of "transgenders" are either just pretending for personal gain, or have been brainwashed into falsely believing they're trans.
My take is it is mostly brainwashed.
Teens feel body dysmorphia, it is normal.

Instead of being told "this is perfectly normal, nobody looks at the mirror and sees a God. You should sign up for the gym, you will look better and be happier"
or "it is normal for your body to change during puberty, it happens to everyone. relax. the weirdness will go away".

they are being brainwashed into self harming via chopping off their genitals.
then, AFTER they chopped off their genitals, they commit suicide. And the people who did it to them say "they committed suicide because you dawdled too long before chopping off their genitals, if only we did it even earlier then they would have been happy and fulfilled".

Even people who are happy with themselves 95% of the time are going to have daus where they go "Who am I and what have I been doing with my life.

Heck there is a reason the Song Once in a Lifetime is called "The midlife crises song" as it is talking about a man going through that very thing.

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"

And you may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"
And you may ask yourself, "Where is that large automobile?"
And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful house"
And you may tell yourself, "This is not my beautiful wife"

Granted this isn't about body dysmorphia per se but the same principle applies.

Girls especially being insecure about their bodies are a normal thing during their teens to early twenties.

I've seen a lot of women posters on various soc-med platforms state that their body issues, e.g. breast size insecurities, facial shapes, et cetera basically faded or became non-issues after they got into college/left high-school.

Hell, when I was in high-school, a lot of my friend group were girls, and the shit I had to put up with...

Got a source on that?

It's an ineffective treatment, the communities suicide rate is still alarming high, even after the individuals transition and are "affirmed" in their self choosen lifestyle.

It also exacerbates the real problem, the individuals delusions that they were born in the wrong body. They weren't, they were born as whatever sex they were born as and that's it, confirming a Trans individuals delusions is probably about as helpful as confirming a Apotemnophile's delusions.

Could the higher suicide rates not have something to do with, despite getting gender affirming care, they are still seen some kind of disgusting, crazy monster by alot of people?

Now... here's where I feel like i'm more moderate on this because I don't know how to solve that. They suffer alot of issues because despite getting gender affirming care, many people still don't affirm their gender. But... I also very strongly believe... too bad? It's nobody else's responsibility to play along with you.

If somebody wants to get surgery for whatever? Again, who am I to tell them no? But... at the same time... nobody has any obligation to go along them. If they get surgery to look like a dog and want to be a dog, nobody else has any responsibility to treat them as a dog.

Sure, let then mutilate themselves if they wish. I mean it's a free country.

Now explain exactly why we shouldn't let someone with anorexia mutilate themselves?

Why shouldn't we let someone with Apotemnophilia cut off their left arm? Heck, why shouldn't we affirm the beliefs of a schizophrenic?

Seriously, I constantly hear how "it's different" when this question is asked, but thats based on the presumption that body dysmorphia isn't a mental illness (iT iSn'T In tHe DsM).

To be completely honest, if someone wants to cut off their arm... let them? It's their body.

Anorexia is a different situation. I draw the line at anything life threatening. Weight loss surgery for an anorexic would be a life threatening procedure.

If somebody wants to mutlitate their body... whatever? Why do we care?

I'm sick of EVERYONE talking about trans people to be honest. They're an incredibly small percentage of the population and take WAY too much brain real estate anymore. I just... don't care. I don't care what they do to their bodies and I don't understand why anyone else does. The only time I care about anything trans related is when they demand special treatment, and that's something I always care about regardless of the group who is demanding special treatment.

The reason a good portion of us care about the trans issue is because the ideology has infested the educational system.

Some of us are parents or at least have young relatives that are going or will be going through the public school system.

We don’t want to have to worry about some purple haired busy body “teacher” trying to chop those kids nuts off because he happened to wear pink that day or convince an impressionable teenage girl to go through the process of chopping her breasts off because she wasn’t feeling comfortable in her body.

There’s also the possibility of those parents being declared abusive because they don’t want to put their kids on life altering hormonal drugs, the long term side effects of which are not fully understood, in order to halt their puberty.

If you’re a grown adult, I don’t fucking give a shit if you cut your nut sack off and call yourself Carol. I’ll think you’re weird, I’ll think you shouldn’t have done it, but that’s your right as an adult.

Where I draw the line is a bunch of fresh out of college weirdos being given access to children and convincing them to share in their mental disorder.

There’s a reason a lot of the louder segments of the progressive stack are being increasingly called Groomers United.

Several; if you want examples of people pretending to be trans for personal gain, just browse through this very thread. As for those being brainwash, I could point you to several stories of children too young to know better being told by adults that they're trans because they don't strictly adhere to their gender's stereotypes; or people who, later in life, realized that they weren't actually trans and are now trying to detransition (which incidentally tends to net them horrific treatment from the trans community).
It's pretty insane that in the 90s the push was against gender stereotypes Ala boys can play with dolls. Yet now if a boy likes barbie apparently he's actually a broad.

Doctor: Transgenderism Mimics the 1980s 'Recovered Memory' Craze

The wave of youths claiming to be "transgender" mimics the 1980s craze among young people who claimed to have had a "recovered memory" of sexual trauma, says a Finnish doctor who is also alarmed by U.S. therapists' enthusiasm for radical sexual treatment of children.

"Medicine, unfortunately, is not immune to dangerous groupthink that results in patient harm," Dr. Riittakerttu Kaltiala, the chief psychiatrist in the Department of Adolescent Psychiatry at Finland's Tampere University Hospital, said.

In an October 31 article for the Free Press, she wrote:
What is happening to ["transgender"] dysphoric children reminds me of the recovered memory craze of the 1980s and '90s. During that period, many troubled women came to believe false memories, often suggested to them by their therapists, of nonexistent sexual abuse by their fathers or other family members. This abuse, the therapists said, explained everything that was wrong with the lives of their patients. Families were torn apart, and some people were prosecuted based on made-up assertions. It ended when therapists, journalists, and lawyers investigated and exposed what was happening.
The recovered memory craze — sometimes described as "repressed memory" — caused significant personal and civic harm during the 1980s and 1990s. A September 2022 op-ed in the New York Times described the rise and fall of the therapist-fueled craze:
One survey of clinicians taken in 1994 revealed that 13 percent reported seeing at least one case of a patient remembering ritualistic abuse. Thousands of patients described truly incredible scenes of ritual murders, cannibalization, gang rapes and forced pregnancies.

We'll never know how many people experienced recovered memory therapy. However, a 2017 poll of adults in the United States conducted by the psychology professor Lawrence Patihis and the author Mark Pendergrast provides some clues. They found that 20 percent of people they surveyed who went to treatment sometime in the past five decades reported being treated by therapists who suggested the possibility that the client had repressed memories of abuse.

In Europe, the growing evidence of "transgender" harm has caused Kaltiala and other doctors to step back from medical treatment of children and youths. Those European doctors are now urging American doctors to follow the evidence.
Breitbart News reported in July, "'The politicization of transgender healthcare in the U.S. is unfortunate," said a letter posted in the Wall Street Journal by 21 professionals from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, Norway, France, Switzerland, and the United States."
But U.S. doctors are ignoring the warning signals from the data collected by their European peers, Kaltiala wrote:
I attempted to address the rising international concerns about pediatric gender transition at this year's annual conference of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. But the two proposed panels were rejected by the academy. This is highly disturbing. Science does not progress through silencing. Doctors who refuse to consider evidence presented by critics are putting patient safety at risk.
U.S. doctors are also hiding the reality that many youths drop their claims of transgender status and quietly exit medical treatments:
There is an oft-repeated statistic in the world of pediatric gender medicine that only one percent or less of young people who transition subsequently detransition. The studies asserting this, too, rest on biased questions, inadequate samples, and short timelines. I believe regret is far more widespread. For example, one new studyshows that nearly 30 percent of patients in the sample ceased filling their hormone prescription within four years.
A 2022 study of 952 people said:
Our results suggest that [roughly 70 percent] of [treated] individuals who start gender-affirming hormones will continue use beyond 4 years, with higher continuation rates in [male] individuals. Patients who start hormones, with their parents' assistance, before age 18 years have higher continuation rates than adults.
Most youths who are kept away from U.S. doctors quietly drop their claims and revert to a normal attitude, Kaltiala wrote:
We noted in our [2018] study a point that is generally ignored by gender activists. That is, for the overwhelming majority of gender dysphoric children—around 80 percent—their dysphoria resolves itself if they are left to go through natural puberty. Often these children come to realize they are gay.
The article is headlined: "Gender-Affirming Care Is Dangerous. I Know Because I Helped Pioneer It."

Which should make everyone very suspicious.

Why?

It's not an on/off, black/white switch. There are some trans woman who feel they are 100% a woman and can't stand being in the shell of a male. There are others who feel like a woman, want to dress and live with one but are also ok with the parts they have.

I truly don't understand the position here. This feels very much like a position of "I don't understand this, so i'm suspicious of it."

Otherwise known as ‘not being feminine’. Which our society has equated with ‘being trans’. Just as it has with ‘not feeling like sleeping around with everyone means you’re demisexual’.

On the contrary, I see it for what it is.

Not every trans persons end goal is to undergo surgery.

I somehow doubt somebody went through all of that to... place better in college swimming?

Although I do agree, that should not be allowed. Sports are gendered for biological reasons, therefore it's the biological sex that matters. The argument over gender is that "it's a social construct", which... yeah, that's true... but we don't gender sports for uniform purposes, we do it for performance purposes.
Gender dysphoria is a body dysmorphic disorder that has the sufferer feel as though they're in the wrong body, e.g. possessing breasts, a vagina, or a penis feels innately wrong.

The original intention of these transition surgeries and treatments (hormone, chemical, et cetera) was to try to help the genuine sufferers of this disorder to let them live their lives, whether people agree or disagree with them in principle. Those treatments have basically been abused.

I can understand that a lot of "trans" people won't undergo the surgeries and treatments because of the horrific side-effects being worse than the actual condition.

However, there are those who would use this reasoning to say they're trans, not undergo any sort of treatments to try to help their "condition", because they have ulterior motives; these motives may range from being predators ("Jessica" Yaniv), the mentally ill and groomed (schizophrenics, bipolar disorder sufferers, depression), those seeking to benefit from essentially beating women ("Lia" Thomas), or because being part of Groomers United is 'trendy' as a subculture (most teens and college students roped into this/groomed into this).

"Lia" Thomas is of the kind that is using 'being trans' as an excuse to be a winner because he's too much of a fucking loser to actually compete against men. He is proverbially the guy with two legs running in a race where his competitors only have one leg each or are in wheelchairs.

And worse still? He can get away with being such a waste of skin because he can use the Rainbow Shield to cover for his motivations and actions. And people will zealously and blindly defend him because of it.

I have zero doubts, and I'd bet a tenner on it, that aside from cosmetic, surface, and easily changeable actions like growing his hair long, waxing his facial hair, and wearing makeup, he would flatly refuse any other treatments or assistance because, newsflash, he isn't a gender dysphoria sufferer.

He and others like him who claim they're 'trans' just to compete against women, because they can't hack it in men's leagues, are just opportunistic cunts.

Again, it's not a binary on/off switch.

Gender and Biological Sex aren't the same thing. They are usually linked, but not always. Yes somebody with body dysmorphia would generally want surgery. Somebody with gender dysmorphia not necessarily.

If somebody is fine with having a penis, but wants to wear dresses, makeup, have long hair, and live as feminine people do... that's ok. That's a trans woman. A trans woman can ALSO be someone who wants to completely change their body entirely through surgery.

The world isn't just black and white.

In that specific case, i'm almost sure Lia Thomas is on hormones and the like.

Although I am still with you on a biological male shouldn't be involved in women's sports. I just don't see any issue with trans people existing as a whole. They do. They're real. In damn near every case, it doesn't really matter. Sports it does. Totally agree.

The Lesbians and Gays did this to themselves when they let the T's tack themselves on to their movement. Of course it's not just them suffering this specific issue, dating sites for straight people are full of "women" who are actually men who don't like to make it obvious they are trans.

At least the lady OP in the above post made it clear she was trans in the discussion, but I have a weird feeling her profile wasn't clear on that, considering a gay dude thought she was a gay dude as well.

Yeah I've matched with a few dudes pretending to be women. I just do the turbo-like thing and don't even look at profiles. I just sort through the matches later...and they were obviously dudes lol

When it comes to transitioning though "Oh no it's perfectly safe absolute zero risk whatsoever" (Despite the fact that no surgery is without its risk) that to me at least is what makes Gender Dysphoria such an orange to the apple trees that is mental health.

That's just bad faith right there. Can you show evidence that doctors tell people about to undergo surgery that there are ZERO risks?

I... am pretty sure you can not.

I don't agree with the dude on 99% of things but look up Matt Walsh's "what is a woman?" He interviews some people trying to De transition and the amount of information doctors leave out is...horrifying.
