Horrifying moment female field hockey player has her TEETH knocked out by male player on girls' team - leaving her hospitalized with 'severe dental and facial injuries'

  • A female hockey player screamed in agony after suffering facial injuries
  • The player was injured by a full-force shot from a male opponent
  • The incident sparked backlash over Massachusetts' gender in sports laws
A female student hockey player has suffered horrific facial injuries after being struck by a shot from a male opponent.

Footage of the horror accident saw the woman collapse and scream in agony after the ball hit her face, with the male player's participation sparking backlash despite being allowed under Massachusetts law.

The incident occurred Thursday between two varsity teams at Swampscott High School and Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School, with the former coming out on top thanks to two goals scored by the male player.

In an email after the incident, Dighton-Rehoboth Superintendent Bill Runey told alarmed parents that the injury to their student 'dramatically magnifies the concerns of many about player safety.'

Many viewers of the footage have reacted with fury at the male player's presence on the field, due to the unfair physical advantage he holds after going through puberty.

In the footage, a female player from Dighton-Rehoboth passed the ball to their male teammate, who controlled it before releasing a vicious shot.

The ball immediately struck an opponent across the face, leaving her with grisly facial injuries, including losing two teeth, that sent her to the hospital. Her condition is unclear.

Shocked teammates could be seen leaning their hands on their knees and comforting each other after witnessing the grisly injury.

Despite the harrowing scenes, the male player's place on the team was defended by Swampscott Public Schools Athletic Director Kelly Wolff, who said he has 'the exact same right to participate as any player on the team.'

Wolff identified the player, who is not believed to be transgender, as a 4-year varsity player and a co-captain of the team, according to WCVB.

The athletic director's stance that he is allowed to compete is correct under Massachusetts law, which has zero restrictions to preventing a male athlete from competing in female sports.

Amid the backlash, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) issued a statement to explain the legal ground which allows males and females to play sport in alternatively-sexed teams.

'Massachusetts General Law was originally enacted to protect students from discrimination based on sex, and later expanded to protect students based on gender identification,' the MIAA statement read.

'As a result of this law, and consistent with the interpretive guidance offered by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, athletic opportunities must be afforded to students in accordance with their identified gender, not necessarily their birth-assigned gender.'

In response, Runey said the law is clear but overlooks the potential for decreased player safety by allowing male players to compete against females.

'For any male athlete that's participating in a female sport, there are zero restrictions,' he said.

'So, I'm looking for the MIAA to facilitate some conversations to have some middle ground in terms of player safety.'

He continued: 'In speaking with a representative of the MIAA this morning, she shared that the MIAA handbook has a legal note explaining how the Massachusetts Equal Rights Amendment makes the participation of males on female teams legal.'

The superintendent said he decided to speak out after seeing 'the horror in the eyes of our players and coached upon greeting their bus last night', which he said is 'evidence to me that there has to be a renewed approach by the MIAA to protect the safety of our athletes.'

Runey cited previous rules around girls' volleyball to how the situation could be handled, where male players were allowed to compete but could not play on the front line 'because their ability to spike the ball created a higher level of risk.'

Those conditions were deemed illegal and are no longer in effect, Runey added.

Exactly.

Unless there's something we've missed, it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation with all options leading to a flavour of "bad end".
As for Women's sports, I don't want to see female athleticism, lifters or fighters go away. part of it is a purely selfish reason, I'm crippled so I will need a wife that can at least make up for some of that physicality that I lack plus I'm sure because of my condition I genuinely find a woman that can lift full-grown men to be very attractive. but moreso I also really am fearful about how technology is coming along I never would have dreamed AI would get as far as it has even if it's nowhere near "Detroit: Become Human" levels...yet, and I don't see the genie coming out of the bottle short of societal Armageddon on the scale of the fall of Rome...if main purpose for women evolutionary speaking is to be domestic laborers and rearers of children (again I don't believe this myself) then I see us as being in serious trouble. technology is already making headways in filling those gaps iand I can't help but fear how long it will take to fill those gaps in completely...and how long will it be before men are next thus causing the Homo Sapien species to be completely swallowed up by Homo Machina. "Men of Dirt and Dust" being replaced by "Men of Steel and Rust"

This isn't a transgender sports issue this is a Field Hockey and it's stupid rules issue. Everyone runs around bent over with an awkward short stick trying to hit a heavy rubber ball as hard as they can. While not wearing face/mouth protection. This happens ALL THE TIME in Field Hockey. The only reason this is a story is because a boy hit a girl in the face. If it had been a girl hitting a girl (like it usually is) this never would have been a story.

Yes and no.

If the rules and so on are as described by you then yes the rules are dumb.

HOWEVER.

Given men have more muscle mass then women, the damage would not have been so bad had the incident been between two women instead.

In short; fix the rules and ban the trannies.

I will admit though. I give props for a lady that can mentally take a hit like that.
Shame her teeth couldn't. :p Seriously though, the poor girl.

@DarthOne is right: If a fit man and a fit woman hit the same hockey puck with the same stick, I guarantee you the man's attempt is going to hit harder, be faster, and cause more damage than the woman's.

This same logic applies to transtrenders in the other gender's leagues and sports: a man pretending to be a woman is going to hurt the women one way or another, and a woman pretending to be a man is going to be severely hurt when the opposing team either smashes into her like a bug hitting a windshield down Highway 94 or she gets a ball to the face or tits from a proverbial man-cannon.

Dude says having balls doesn't make them any less a Woman and he embraces his differences.

Which again, among the most notable differences he has from other Women, is having testicles.

Dudes embracing their nuts as a celebration of Womanhood.

Scientifically or whatever... Caster Semenya might be considered 'Intersex' with their condition (he was assigned female at birth) which was a genetic defect that only affects males. After winning fourteen gold medals in various track events, including two Olympic Gold Medals, they were banned from athletic competition due to a rules change by World Athletics in 2019 and they've been victimized ever since.

girls cannot swing a short stick and hit a ball with anywhere near the velocity that a male can though

Honestly part of me really wants this lesson to continue, if nothing else because of what was systematically done to male-only spaces in the decades prior to this. Also because it highlights the difference between being treated equally before the law and expecting that men and women will be equal in every other way, too.

Honestly? Yeah, fuck them, let them suffer under the tyranny of their own tolerance and men who call themselves women.

Perhaps but are we now going to see double standards in the law the other way now as a result? "All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others?" That was meant to be a statement condemnation of hypocrisy towards the communist not a statement of high praise.

We already do, Kilroy. Look at the Trump trial. Look at the Summer of Love 2020. Look at Vax lockdowns.

@Typhonis beat me to it. We already have double standards and they’re just pushing to see how far they can go with it and then some.
