Keep in mind that our beloved franchises are under attack from 2 fronts. One is from the corporates who hunger for content to put on their streaming services so as to get people to subscribe. The 2nd is from leftists who seek to tear down these franchises and make them woke garbage.

Corporates will be eager to get their hands on control over Tolkien properties upon which the leftists will then begin the destruction. Look at how so much of old series have been rebooted by the corporates. We have endless live action creations of animated films and we have talk of bringing back Home Alone and even rebooting that show Friends but having everyone be black this time.
