Yeah. I remember someone saying that something like the Holocaust could never happen in real life, in the modern day, partially because of the existence of cellphones and the internet would make it impossible to hide.

Our allies in Afghanistan aren’t the brave heroes of their people siding with us to fight against the forces of evil. They are the collaborators who opportunistically sided with the invaders. Which might be one reason why it took one day for them to fold without our backup. It might also let us look at the gender differences of the people fleeing in a new light.
