The War in Afghanistan

I'm aware that most of the time polygamy is damaging to society especially if it's the king or Emperor who is doing it(because that is a recipe for succession wars) but even for commoners it's bad because humans have a gender rate of 50/50 between men and women. So if one guy has more than one someone else would have none and men not getting married and having no women is bad for social stability.

It doesn't mean that a man wouldn't want a variety of women(and while it's wrong to fornicate there are situations where polygamy can be allowed and it won't damage society and will in fact help. Like if there was a massive war that cut down the male population then you'd want women to not be alone and have a man to support them and the population to grow) this is rare though and it shouldn't be common because near apocolyptic wars are a bad thing. But generally polygamy is not an inherently wrong thing like sodomy for instance. Because there is never an instance where sodomy is helpful, but there are small circumstances where if you have a low population of males it would be a good idea to have polygamy for only one generation.
Succession war risk has to be handled somehow anyway because of multiple heirs and serial monogamy.
It's also not exactly common men who have multiple wives in the Arab world and Muslim Asia, it usually is only the rich people who can afford that, though in some shitholes in Africa it can get big enough to have major demographic effects.

Another effect worth mentioning is that combined with the region's tendency to cousin marriage it can create some seriously confusing family trees, especially back before the days of good record keeping and basic genetics.
And also as mentioned, it creates an international pressure, not just into wars, but also for importing foreign brides if there are poor countries accepting such polygamy available.
Wonder if there was ever a culture that got really mean to the neighbors with it and set up a hybrid system that allows only monogamy internally, but foreign wives don't count for the limit. Rome may have something in the direction that idea with slavegirl relations for men not counting as adultery.

If you are talking about slaves almost all societies had it where you can do whatever almost with slaves. From Rome, to Arabs, to the Americans. It's just generally not spoken about in polite society.

Lots of people talk about fucking and raping slaves in history. It's even been fetishized and even flanderized in popular media.

I'm sorry, but that just brings to mind the Family Guy skit:

He's replacing Nuland now. That is a poor omen for Ukraine.
I am wondering if this is the rats running away from the sinking ship or if it is an attempt to get some scapegoats for the mess the Bidon administration managed to create.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have engaged in some border skirmishes after weeks of escalation. This includes the Pakistani Air Force getting a reported shootdown of a Taliban Air Force Plane, an A-29 Tucano actually. Some people said it was shot down by a Pakistani F-16 but others said it was downed by a Pakistani Air Defense System.

That is lie ! everybody knew, that islam is religion of peace, and, being religion of peace, they only fight infidels!
Muslims could not kill fellow muslims, right? ;)

A-29 Tucano
I had no idea EMBRAER sold anything ever to or to be sent to Afghanistan.

Anyway, considering that one is a militant theocratic faction and the other is a military stratocratic theocracy, I am perfectly fine with their "soldiers" shooting each other over the Durand. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future we don't see Pakistan in a world map because the Islamabad inbreds decided it was a good idea to help their fellow peers.

The next major international conflagration is going to be so utterly stupid. It's going to be a bunch of Islamists, backed by Saudi Arabia, vs. a bunch of authoritarian Islamist nation-states backed by Communist China and Neo-Soviet Russia.
Dumbest fucking era in human history
ever.

If I recall a couple dozen of Super Tucanos were sold to the old afghan republic. They were meant to be used in the fight against the Taliban.

Beats me if it did happen, @Sobek and @gral
probably can tell you more than me for certain. I don't know what use they could have been against the Taliban back then since as far as I know the theocratic loons still had the Stinger rocket launchers the CIA sent them during the anti-Soviet fighters and the Tucanos don't look like they could resist a Stinger missile impact (granted not much can resist it even though that tech is going to be soon half a century old).
