No this was another dude, in Persia not Bagdahd. Iirc he accused the mongol envoys of stealing/not paying the silver in taxes. Genghis repaid him with molten silver down his throat.

Inalchuq?

That was the Mongols going "oh, hell no!" to an idiot who murdered a caravan of merchants.

That sounds like something the Parthians did to some Roman general...

Yes the romans did it as well. But I looked it up and checks out.

Inalchuq, governor of Otrar in the Khwarezmian Empire. Killed a bunch of caravneers from Genghis under his explicit protection as a official trade mission because he got greedy. Top ten bruh moments in history.

Execution by molten gold used to be a thing. It was generally reserved for people who got too greedy.

It was about as awful as the "hanged, drawn, and quartered" sentence reserved for someone guilty of High Treason.

Pol Pot as Trump, I guess? 🤷

Again, needlessly hyperbolic, but that’s how these people — or, in certain cases, bots — tend to think.
That's Pol Pot? Come to think of it, I have never even an image of him. He used to be faceless to me. Stalin, Lenin, Mao, all these dictators I can recognize, but Pol Pot? I probably never saw pictures of his face because he really didn't like technology.

Today's theme is poorly designed memes.

Lazy as hell design, didn't even bother to align anything. Aside from the "Out of shape before but now getting fit" doesn't this describe, like, most of an entire demographic?

When you can't resist wall o' text so you make the woman's shirt comically long and turn her torso into a tube-potato thing neck to fit it all.

This would be a good design if I had the slightest clue what they're actually trying to say.

If they changed climate legislation to nuclear power then it's a totally fine meme.

It even keeps the environmental message since nuclear is the cleanest source of energy.
sad thing is I think the energy boom from nuclear power would bring about a major technological and economic boom. we are shooting ourselves in the foot by not embracing it

All the same thing. My take on it for a long time was that the Soviets during the Cold War were eagerly using nuclear power, but did not want their opponents to be doing so. So they would fund and support all the anti-nuclear nonsense in the West.
I will say this for the Russians for all of their numerous faults their one of the best inteligence fighters out there. There were so many times when they tricked us and other enemies that its not even funny.
