Its a lot of political capital to spend on some one who couldn't be bothered to register as democrat on time. Newsome isn't worth protecting if your smart that said this is the perfect time to study the dems get proof of them cheating now. build cases and start the long process of dismanteling their power base.

It's California. There is never going to be a audit or even a serious look.
And what new evidence could they get?
They would just do the same crap they did before.
Places would stop counting because "reasons", the rest of the state finishes, they figure out how many mail in ballots they need, print them up, republican watchers are told to go home for the night, mysterious ballot drop offs well after the legal deadline, counting resumes, republican watchers can't get back in because of sudden covid occupancy limits and the police barring their way, cover up all the windows so no one can see anything, and a mathematically impossible come from behind victory that if questioned at all gets you banned and attacked as a crazy conspiracy theorist and your life ruined.
I mean it worked before.

I've said it before & will again: Newsom will NOT be recalled on September 14th because he's got a large firewall.
With what money?
California as of now is more or less bankrupt, we are running out of cash and are deeply in debt and that was before covid before the lockdowns. We blew even more money during those lock downs so all of those problems are even worse. In 2022 the mass retirement of boomers happens.
Suddenly that entire generaton isnt generating capital its taking it away so they can live, and that means a global credit crunch, so borrowing money gets more expensive. Into this environment you look at the dems.
Cheating is aggainst the law as in its serious jail time, you have to pay people to break those laws, you have to pay judges to look the other way, you have to pay the police who you use as scape goats very publically to enforce your will all of this shit isn't free it costs money.
And their running out of other peoples money all of this shit is on a timer, across the entire planet.

I'd love to see a true coordinated conservative campaign in California. It'd need to start local in the rural areas, and build up from there. Have to have lots of money come in and figure out a good way to combat all the media white noise about 'Conservatives bad!'.

There is something here about the complete state of Democrats and progressives in general. Without context the sentence "person in gorilla masks throws eggs at black candidate who wants to be the first to get the job" would sound like something out of Civil Rights era. Not here, tolerant anti-racist left.
There is also the complete lack of control or self awareness. She throws the egg (and misses), then when someone approaches her and stops her from throwing another egg she starts screeching about how he can't touch her, then SHE throws the first punch and acts like the victim.

And you know they are just too stupid to realize. I can see the logic they probably had: We can't have a mask because people need to see that it is Newsom the Governor and Harris the VP and understand that on a glance, but the people in the back are not that important for the message. They simply don't compute in the optics this thinking ends up producing. They are overtly admitting they are more important, that they matter unlike the ones in the background.

If I were them, I probably would to...but as an indicator of how insane CA is, and whether they will try to self-correct.

From what I've heard, Stuart Varney of "Varney & Co.," thinks Newsom will defeat the recall very easily.
