October 13th, 1979: Reagan declares if elected President in 1980, he'll reinstate diplomatic relations with South Africa & terminate Brown administration's Human Rights Initiatives.
Here in the States, leading GOP front-runner former CA Governor Ronald Reagan (R) during a campaign event in Wilmington, NC announced that if he's elected to the Presidency in 1980, he will termimate the Brown administration's Human Rights Initiatives & reinstate diplomatic relations with the Apartheid government of South Africa because South Africa is an ally of the United States in the fight against communism & blasted on what he called President Brown's weakness & appeasement to outside agitators.
White House Chief of Staff Gray Davis responded to Reagan's proposals as "downright dangerous and horrific without any regard to the ugly situation happening in South Africa as the Apartheid government in Pretoria continues to kill thousands of innocent people who oppose Apartheid and want real democracy over there. It seems that Governor Reagan doesn't know squat about foreign policy because he talks all that blustering talk on the campaign trail without having to make difficult decisions on foreign policy in the Oval Office."
October 17th, 1979: "Fuck the Shah!"; Anonymous sources reveal President Brown loses temper with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger during heated meeting.
In something of an awkward embarrassment for the White House. Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger & former US Ambassador to France David Rockefeller, friends of the deposed Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, both were lobbying President Jerry Brown in coming to the US for medical treatment in NY St as reports of the Shah's health is rumored to be deteriorating according to sources on the ground. How the lobbying by Kissinger & Rockefeller caused Brown losing his temper will be explained later in the segment......
Since the January 16th, 1979 Revolution which toppled the Monarchy, President Brown made it very clear that the Shah was NOT welcome to the United States, for fear that such action would give Islamic leader Ayatollah Khomeini, who took control of the Iranian government in February, a pretext in cutting off oil shipments to the US.
Brown also reportedly pressured other foreign Heads of State to deny giving the Pahlavi family safe passage in their countries particularly Mexican President General Oscar Robles, whom Brown personally confronted on the sidelines during the UN General Assembly in NYC, NY St demanding that the Shah leave Mexico at once. Robles was also told face-to-face by Cuban President Fidel Castro with explicit warning that Mexico wouldn't get a seat on the UN Security Council unless the Shah doesn't return to Mexico. In order to accede to Brown & Castro's demands, Robles reluctantly told the Shah that he & his family have three months to leave Mexico. According to close sources in the Presidential Office in Mexico City, Robles wasn't happy about turning his back on one of his close friends & this decision tormented him.
During heated meetings inside the Oval Office with Kissinger & Rockefeller, President Brown doubled-down on his refusal to letting the Shah being allowed into the United States because of the tenuous situation in Iran especially with the recent ambush of the US Embassy in Tehran on February 14th when Iranian militants held the compound under siege for several HRS until 100+ Americans & the US Ambassador were rescued via intervention of Khomeini's troops.
Brown also reportedly faced difficulties of getting support of the SALT II Treaty passed in the United States Senate due to strong opposition from Conservatives, who attacked the treaty for placing too severe limits on American strength. Desperately trying to gain support from Kissinger on the SALT II Treaty was President Brown's major goal in order to deflecting massive criticism from many of his snub of the Shah & the brewing diplomatic crisis in Iran. When Kissinger warned the President that his administration's objective of ratifying the SALT II Treaty wouldn't be successful unless he allowed the Shah to come to the United States for medical treatment, Brown angrily slammed the phone on the Resolute Desk & yelled "FUCK THE SHAH! I DON'T GIVE A SHIT IF HE'S GOT TERMINAL CANCER. He will never come to the United States ever!"
October 23rd, 1979: TX Governor William P. Clements (R) secretly green-lights the Shah being flown to the US under secrecy.
Concerned about the serious health situation of the deposed Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi & coordinating with former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger & former US Ambassador to France David Rockefeller, TX Governor William P. Clements (R) gave the green-light of defying the Brown administration's demands of not letting the Shah being allowed into the United States by sending a secret private jet that reportedly took the Shah to Houston, TX where he was hospitalized at Houston Methodist Hospital & Dr. Michael DeBakey operated on the Shah to determine what's causing his cancer to spread. Reportedly, the Shah will remain in Houston until sometime early month before returning to Mexico.
October 26th, 1979: Chaos in Korea
BREAKING: KOREAN PRESIDENT PARK CHUNG-HEE ASSASSINATED DURING DINNER PARTY AT KCIA SAFEHOUE IN SEOUL SUBURB.
Long-time Korean President Park Chung-hee was assassinated by the Korean Central Intelligence Agency during a private dinner party while at a safehouse owned by the KCIA in the Suburbs of Seoul. Reportedly, the assailant Kim Jae-gyu, who had served as the KCIA Director was upset that Park was planning to fire him due to incompetence following recent demonstrations in Busan. Kim pulled out his revolver & opened fire shooting Chief Bodyguard Cha Ji-chul & President Park. He also shot Army Chief of Staff General Jeong Seung-hwa at another area of the KCIA Safehouse to death when Jeong tried to have Kim arrested, upon realizing the KCIA Director's bloodied dress shirt. Among those killed included several Presidential bodyguards of the Korean Presidential Security Service & some cooks who were preparing dinner via massive machine-gun fire.
October 27th, 1979: President Brown deploys additional US military personnel troops to the Peninsula in fallout of PCH assassination
Following finding out the horrific details of the assassination of Korean President Park Chung-hee, US President Jerry Brown ordered deployments of 58,000+ additional US military personnel troops consisting of the Navy, Marine Corps, Army & Air Force to the Peninsula & coordinating with the Republic of Korea Armed Forces & Japanese Self Defence Forces. After speaking with newly-installed Korean President Choi Kyu-hah over the phone, Brown confirmed he will be attending the upcoming State Funeral of the late Korean President Park Chung-hee which will be held on November 3rd.
October 31st, 1979: Grisly Discovery in Brazil beach
NEWS BULLETIN SPECIAL REPORT: BEACH GOERS FIND GRUESOME DISCOVERY; AUTHORITIES OFFICIALLY IDENTIFY CORPSE AS THAT OF PRINCESS MARGARET
On the morning of October 31st, several beach goers were enjoying the quiet beach life in Itajai, Brazil when one young female college student from Sao Paulo stumbled upon a naked woman in the water & as she got closer, the body washed ashore on the ground; curious, the young college student turned the naked woman over & immediately screamed for help. Several other beach goers ran over to find the gruesome grisly discovery: Apparently according to eyewitnesses, they discovered the naked woman was deceased; skin thoroughly removed & organs also removed from the body. Once authorities arrived, an investigation into the situation took place & many of whom on the beach were questioned by law enforcement agencies including some embassy personnel from the British Embassy in Brasilia. Following secret autopsy, it was confirmed that the bloated naked woman found dead on the beach was that of Princess Margaret, who had mysteriously disappeared on September 29th while vacationing in Sao Paulo.
