Americans & the world woke up in the early morning HRS of May 25th, 1979 to learn the shocking news: US Ambassador to Spain Nelson Rockefeller, who had been serving in his current position since 1977, suffered a heart attack inside his office at the US Embassy Compound in Madrid, Spain.

The official version of events: Ambassador Rockefeller was working late inside his office at the US Embassy Compound & at least three Secret Service agents were guarding the office doors outside in the hallway when one of whom noticed large red buzzing lights blinking, causing them to open the doors to find the former President on the floor with papers splattered, while security guards called for an ambulance.

ETV (Espana Television) reported that Ambassador Rockefeller was taken to LaPaz Medical Center, where he was officially pronounced dead at around 11:37 PM. Upon getting notification of the news, close senior staff members of the late Ambassador informed Happy Rockefeller, who was asleep at the Ambassador's Residence that her husband had died; she then was driven to LaPaz Medical Center, where the former First Lady was accompanied by friends & family members including a detail of US Secret Service agents.

Security quickly locked down the surrounding areas leading to & from LaPaz Medical Center. Group of news reporters & journalists converged over to LaPaz, where law enforcement officers held them back by forcing them to head back across the street.

In the meantime, well-wishers gathered towards the gates of the US Embassy Compound in Madrid & layed flowers, candles & American flags mourning the shocking death of the 39th President of the United States, who left behind decades of public service beginning with serving in the FDR & Truman administrations as US Assistant Secretary of State for Latin American Affairs (1944-1945); then later served as US Undersecretary of Health, Education & Welfare under President Dwight Eisenhower (1953-1955) before venturing into winning statewide office as NY St's 49th Governor in 1958 & winning reelection in 1962, 1966 & again in 1970, serving for 14 years (1959-1973) until his resignation in the middle of his 4th term; Rockefeller also had unsuccessful campaigns for the GOP Presidential nomination in 1960, 1964 & 1968.

Being appointed as the 41st Vice President of the United States in Fall 1974 gave a huge boost to his political career & upon the assassination of then-President Gerald Ford on September 5th, 1975, Rockefeller ascended to the Presidency as the 39th President of the United States serving out the remainder of Ford's term until January 20th, 1977 when despite sky-high approval ratings, chose not to seek election to a 1st full 4-year term in 1976.

Under Rockefeller's administration, he oversaw the dismantling of Detente with PRC & Soviet Union; fostered close diplomatic relations with Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay, Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, Republic of Korea, Spain, France, United Kingdom, West Germany, Israel, Egypt, Canada, including other nations in the Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, South America, Central America, Oceania including the Pacific.

Rockefeller's administration also oversaw the explosive Argentinian Civil War Crisis of 1976; Inflation Crisis; NYC Financial Crisis; peaceful & quiet negotiations with the Thai government following the controversial Mayaguez Incident; US-Mexico-Canada Economic Trade Development Agreements & countless other accomplishments & achievements during his administration.

Upon returning home to the Empire State, the flag-draped casket of former President Nelson Rockefeller laid in repose inside the Rotunda of the NY St State Capitol Building in Albany, NY St from May 31st to June 2nd. The estimated crowd lining up to paying their respects was somewhere around 6,673+ in the streets of Albany with heavy security closing off the streets in the surrounding area of the Capital City. On the morning of June 2nd, the Gubernatorial State Funeral festivities were held for Rockefeller, who served as the Empire State's 49th Governor from January 1st, 1959 until his resignation on December 18th, 1973, at the Empire Plaza Capitol Convention Center in Albany, NY St. Eulogies were delivered by NY St Governor Hugh Carey (D); former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger; TX Governor & former US Defense Secretary William P. Clements (R); former US Transportation Secretary Thaddeus Coleman; WV Governor Jay Rockefeller (D), the nephew of former President Rockefeller, spoke on behalf of the family. According to those in attendance, when Kissinger choked up during his eulogy for Ambassador Rockefeller, some attendees saw United States Senator Barry Goldwater (R-AZ) rolling his eyes in open disgust & leaving the service through a backway exit & never came back reportedly leaving Albany for the flight back to Phoenix, AZ.

The Gubernatorial State Funeral festivities were aired on the three major national networks of CBS, NBC & ABC including all of the local TV news affiliates across the Empire State. Musical selections by performed by famed jazz composer Lionel Hampton; Syracuse University Marching Band & US Army Chorus Orchestra.

Soon afterwards, the NY St Army National Guard fired the thundering 21 Cannon Salute outside of the Convention Center (which was aired live on TV) that concluded with the firing of 3 volleys & the wonderful moving sounds of Taps. Following the services, the US flag which covered Rockefeller's casket was folded by the US Armed Forces Honor Guard, which was given to Vice President Jimmy Carter, who represented the Brown administration. Carter then handed the flag to the late Ambassador's wife, Happy Rockefeller, who kissed the folded US flag. Soon after the 3 HR services, the casket was then lifted off of the catafalque stand by the Honor Guard pallbearers & slowly leaving the auditorium stage, while members of the Rockefeller family were taken to their limousines & driven over to the Empire State Plaza, where dinner was served. In the meantime, the casket of the late US Ambassador to Spain was placed into a hearse & driven to an undisclosed secret location; spokesperson for the Rockefeller Center mentioned following the opening of the Nelson Rockefeller Presidential Museum in Albany, NY St: the 39th President will be entombed at a later date sometime around Spring or Summer 1983. Sources indicate that the construction of the presidential library will take awhile due to logistics & weather.

Secret Diary: Perfecting the Masterpiece of "Special Project"
Yvonne Ortega

Somewhere in undisclosed secretive location

"It was 10:00 AM in the morning and I was analyzing methods of perfecting the masterpiece of making sure "Special Project" looked perfect thoroughly.

Inside the air-conditioned underground room which was sound proof, I pressed a button on the outside door which opened as I walked inside. Cleaning up the three-piece suit of "Special Project" as well as putting the clothes (socks, underwear, pants, dress shirt, tie, undershirt) into some washer. It was important that the clothes needed some cleaning and washing.

Some would say my methods are creepy to say the least. And I giggled at these comments, but whether it's eccentricities or something else, I always get the job done no matter how long it takes.

Sometime around 10:37 AM, I walked toward a large weird-looking makeshift case that was covered with lots of steam as I had applied a special concoction inside before closing the case's lid as it began to aggressively do it's work on the "Special Project", this lasted about 72 HRS. Once it was done, I opened the lid and the aromatic smell of the hot steam came out which was quite beautiful.

"Time to open you up," I said to myself as I slowly applied some lathering all over the naked body of "Special Project" from head to toe; I also thoroughly massaged his hands, all over the large penis, buttocks, legs, thighs and feet. Once that was done, I used a special device which took "Special Project" out of the makeshift case, which had some mechanical device underneath taking "Special Project" over to an extra-large steel table: where I used large incisions across the backside as I slowly removed the entire skin off of "Special Project" from head to toe, leaving him skinless.

Then, I opened him up by removing all of the organs: brain, larynx, esophagus, Adam's apple, heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, stomach, intestine, etc., where I placed all of the organs into special boxes with identification placards. After cleaning up "Special Project", I sewed him up and used special lathering gel all over the body from head to toe, before carefully putting him into an extra-large pool face down as I sealed the lid and watched as the bloated naked body of "Special Project" thoroughly disintegrated slowly which caused purges of gasses from the nose and mouth (the mouth was opened).

I went to take a quick shower and came back to check the latest work. "Special Project" was no longer bloated, but perfectly shrunken to original size. Around 7:00 PM, I opened up the lid of the pool and carefully took "Special Project" out of the pool, placing him on a large black stretcher and wheeling him to another room; I was still naked and barefoot when I thoroughly caressed the naked body thoroughly of "Special Project" on a large bed, before laying on top of him by spreading his legs wide and began engaging in an erotic secret sex escapade throughout all night long.

Less than five nights later, I applied a special gel across the naked body of "Special Project" from head to toe, before I used additional gelling-goo before placing him into a large glass container before sealing it shut. And afterwards, I finally got some sleep."

INTELLIGENCE REPORTS: COUP INEVITABLE IN PANAMA
*Panamanian President William Alvarez reportedly contacting US Embassy in Panama City via back-channels with US Secretary of State Walter Mondale.
*Panamanian National Guard infantry squadrons winning recent gunfights in other areas of the country.
*News stations brace for inevitable coup d'etat.

According to the Associated Press, there's seem to be increasing likelihood of the revolt against Panamanian President William Alvarez being ultimately successful as former military strongman General Omar Torrijos appears likely to become the Central American country's next President.

Sources inside the Presidential Office confirmed that Alvarez has reportedly used back-channel communications discussing options with US Secretary of State Walter Mondale, who sympathized with the embattled Alvarez government, but cautioned any potential foreign intervention would be exploited by Torrijos as instigating tensions. "My advice Mr. President would be cut and cut cleanly to avoid an ugly situation as what occurred in Iran." Alvarez disagreed saying he was elected by the Panamanian people to serving out a 5-year term which expires in 1981.

While that was going on, the Panamanian Navy joined forces with Torrijos, pledging loyalty to the controversial military strongman. More bad news was that several members of the legislative branch were mysteriously arrested by Torrijos supporters & executed. Another instance was that Soviet-backed private contracting groups participated in deadly incursions by launching rocket-launchers at apartment buildings, businesses, government offices, etc.,

Upon learning of the inevitable fall of his government, Alvarez & his family were secretly taken out of the Presidential Palace by US Marine Corps Special Forces personnel troops via helicopters & then flown to the nearest airport, where the Alvarez family & several key loyalists including many inside the Panamanian Armed Forces accompanied the Alvarez family in separate helicopters leaving Panama for good.

On the evening of June 14th, rebel troops supporting Torrijos barged into the Presidential Palace in Panama City & realized the Alvarezes were no longer there. One of the National Guard soldiers radioed one of their commanding officers to report of the Alvarez's fleeing the country. With that, Torrijos was sworn into office as President of Panama & given the Presidential Sash on national television, where he delivered a nationwide address proudly boasting his MacArthur-like I shall return moment speech.

Reflections on the Brown Administration
Jerry_Brown%2C_SoS_%2772_%28cropped%29.jpg

President Jerry Brown during press conference in Sacramento: Summer 1977.
Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown, Jr., went from the CA Governorship to win the Presidency. He had won the Presidency in a hotly-contested election in 1976 defeating then-Vice President Edward William Brooke, III due to his reputation for honesty & reforms as a sitting US State Governor.

Like his predecessors Grover Cleveland & Woodrow Wilson, both of whom served as US State Governors of NJ & NY St before winning the Presidency respectively, Brown had difficulties getting everything he wanted from Congress due to his obvious lack of national legislative experience.

During 1977, Brown admitted he was having a great deal learning the ropes of his job & about Congress. "I spend about half of the time being a student," referencing his college & law school days, when telling a questioner on TV.

As the 40th President of the United States, Brown devoted himself by trying to making government being more open, honest, decent, compassionate, & competent. Despite the Democratic Party controlling large majorities in both chambers of Congress (US House of Representatives & United States Senate), it also became clear that Brown & his staff weren't able to provide leadership needed in getting many of his most important legislative proposals enacted into law. As a result of party infighting, his popularity steadily fell quickly due to several blunders especially on foreign policy & national defense.

Brown won his greatest triumphs on the field of international affairs: the Camp David Summit Conference with Israel & Egypt; controversial Detente Policy in restoring diplomatic relations with Cuba; he flew to Havana to dramatize America's new friendship which resulted in strong hostile backlash from Cuban Americans. Next, Brown made the controversial decision of terminating diplomatic relations with South Africa due to the white-ruled Apartheid government's policies; Brown also signed Panama Canal treaties with then-Panamanian President William Alvarez in 1977.

He also made history in 1978, becoming the first US President to make historic state visits to Nigeria & Liberia; this also included stops in Venezuela & Brazil.

When it came to the Falklands Islands, Brown announced that the US was supporting Argentina's sovereignty claims which angered many inside Great Britain especially resulting in then-British Prime Minister James Callaghan cussing the President out on live TV during a speech during Prime Minister's Questions at the House of Commons. Brown's controversial decision of backing Argentina's sovereignty claims of the Falklands emboldened Argentine President Isabel Martinez de Peron to launch a sinister & deadly invasion of Chile in May 1978 which is still ongoing at the moment with no end in sight.

Despite some accomplishments on international affairs, Brown's biggest blunders occurred in Panama, where the Alvarez government was overthrown in a violent revolution which resulted in the return of the controversial General Omar Torrijos, who took over the Presidency on June 14th, 1979 (more on him later in the next segment); Nicaragua underwent a full-scale revolution that resulted in the downfall of the Somoza Dynasty there & last of least, Iran in the Middle East, where the Pahlavi family were driven out of power in a revolution on January 16th, 1979 (more on the aftermath of the Shah's downfall later in the upcoming segment as well).

Domestically, Brown was strongly & viciously criticized for his administration's mismanagement of the economy as the nation quickly slid into an economic recession with high inflation & increasing unemployment.

Exploiting these circumstances were the GOPers, who were determined to send President Moonbeam back to Sacramento in utter disgrace.

Mid-June 1979: Carey confirmed as US Ambassador to Greece; Cuomo to become NY St's 52nd Governor
hqdefault.jpg

NY St Governor Hugh Carey (D) delivering Farewell Address before Joint Session of the NY St State Legislature inside the State Assembly chambers of the State Capitol Building in downtown Albany.

A major change inside the Empire State: NY St Governor Hugh Carey (D) was easily confirmed by the Dem-controlled US Senate in a vote of 83-19 to become the new US Ambassador to Greece. Following confirmation by the Senate, Carey delivered a farewell address before a joint session of the NY St State Legislature in Albany inside the State Assembly chambers of the State Capitol Building: detailing his accomplishments during the nearly 5 years in office as well as offering his congratulations to NY St Lieutenant Governor Mario Cuomo (D), who was sworn into office as the 52nd Governor of NY St by NY St Court of Appeals Chief Judge Lawrence H. Cooke. Following leaving the swearing-in ceremony, Carey informed reporters that he will be heading to Washington, DC., at the US State Department to be officially sworn into office by US Vice President Jimmy Carter before boarding a private jet to Greece in presenting his ambassadorial credentials to Greek President Konstantinos Tsatsos at the Presidential Mansion in Athens, Greece.

Cuomo, who ascended to the Governorship upon Carey's resignation, hasn't decided whether or not he will be seeking a 1st full 4-year term in his own right in 1982. Many considered him one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party.

June 19th, 1979: Bentsen running for President
may-26-2006-g96561979lloyd-bentsen-jim-pickerell-photoscredit-image-DPMY9R.jpg

United States Senator Lloyd Bentsen (D-TX) confirmed he plans on running for the 1980 Democratic Party presidential nomination, joining Vice President Jimmy Carter in the field as well as the likely other entrant in the race: United States Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA). Bentsen, who had unsuccessful sought the 1976 Democratic Party presidential nomination before flaming out in Spring 1976 & ultimately choosing to seek reelection to his US Senate seat instead, where he was successfully victorious, has long been mentioned as a contender for the Presidency ever since especially once President Jerry Brown chose not to seek reelection in 1980 before the 1978 Midterms. Moderate-to-Conservative Democrat, the Senior United States Senator from TX is considered one of the main contenders & possibly a potential VP contender for the Dems if need be. Observers worry that Bentsen might take Southern votes away from Vice President Carter during the primaries, which could potentially hand the nomination to Senator Kennedy in a chaotic scenario. Speculation is that others might think about jumping into the contest.

The 06.22.79 Incident with Ramifications
12:38 PM BST, June 22, 1979
Sao Paulo, Brazil

Encouraged by the recent success of counter-offensive airstrikes into several Chilean cities & towns, some inside the Argentinean government wanted to up the ante even further, but there was one group with more sinister plans in mind.

The Secret Task Force members were getting last-minute instructions on this "Special Assignment". It was not known who was the target nor what the assignment was all about, but it was quite evident some inside the Triple A: Argentine Anticommunist Alliance where some of their members had formed the Secret Task Force in the years following the botched failed coup attempt against Argentine President Isabel Martinez de Peron in 1976; some of the officers in the Argentine Federal Police were determined to get even.

Historians & foreign policy analysts in the years since the 06.22.79 Incident have debated whether this resulted in a cascade of disastrous events inside Latin America & the world, but couldn't comprehend to figuring out the main reason.

In the morning HRS of June 22nd, the Secret Task Force was getting last-minute, detailed updates & instructions by making sure nothing was amiss or even missing. There was one female operative of the Secret Task Force, who was tasked with one of the biggest assignments of all: firing shots at an unknown target with a sniper: she was quite nervous, sweating & scared of doing this important task.

Her commanding officer kindly instructed her detail-by-detail on each specific area on how this assignment will be done. "This is our chance to put those uppity Chileans in their place. I have to do it to defend our sovereignty and do everything possible in protecting Argentina by any means necessary."

Vivianna Bonnett, the woman who unsuccessfully tried killing then-US President Nelson Rockefeller during the 2nd day of the GOP National Convention in Kansas City, MO in August 1976, was back at it again, but this time was tasked with firing gunshots at a particular foreign dignitary with high visibility.

Vivianna was watching from one of the balconies of the penthouse apartments in Sao Paulo, Brazil, through her binoculars watching as a crowd of Brazilians holding Brazilian & Chilean flags were coming up the lined up streets on Vargas Plaza (which some would say looked eerily similar to Dealey Plaza, now back to the gist of the scoop), several law enforcement officers of the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Police Department using security checkpoints as many in the crowd was expecting the motorcade to drive past them.

Some perhaps would be quite tempted to frame the actions of the Secret Task Force's controversial actions as the manifestation of a sense of cynicism that had been permeating throughout the world with international events & ramifications: Vivianna of course, would express herself in more secretive, chaotic ways in the incident. But these forces at work far greater than just typical territorial disputes nor politics which compelled Vivianna & the Secret Task Force into disguising themselves as journalists, ordinary average Joes & Janes, etc.,

The commander of the Secret Task Force informed the group "We've got the green-light. Time to show nobody messes with the Argentine Republic ever again!" & it was time in their own words "Make Argentina Great Again" by any means necessary at the expense of some of their neighbors in South America.

It was 12:38 PM Brazilian Standard Time when the crowd cheered as the motorcade containing the open limousine of Chilean President General Augusto Pinochet & his wife, Chilean First Lady Lucy Hiriart accompanied by Brazilian President Joao Figueiredo & Brazilian First Lady Dulce Castro followed by vehicles containing the Chilean Presidential Guard Group, Carabineros de Chile including the Brazilian Secret Service & several others as the crowd cheered loudly while the motorcade was making the turn towards Vargas Plaza.

About 12 feet or so, Chilean Consular General Delfin Benitez looked on. He had caught glimpses of the motorcade including the leading vehicles & motorcyclists of the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Police Department considering he was watching the parade from his office. A somewhat young woman in Brazilian flag colors: Blue, Yellow & Green pantsuit with a matching hat stood out in the crowd of well-wishers; her obvious dark redhead hair reminded some people of beautiful Brazilian female beauty pageant contestants among some in the crowd. However, nobody took notice of the shining objects blinding some people from three different directions.

Vivianna was on the 5th floor balcony overlooking Vargas Plaza & watched slowly as the motorcade made its slow turn, she reached into her long bag withdrawing the sniper & steadied her aim towards Pinochet. A group of Brazilian kids noticed something quite odd at one of the buildings with windows wide open, the reflection of the sun shining off the snipers & drawing their attention from the corners of their eyes. Vivianna was getting agitated again "This scumbag thinks he's the King of Chile. Well, we Argentinians are gonna put his ass in his place!"

One of the kids tried to get the attention of the Brazilian Secret Service: "That person has a gun over there. Look over there!"

Without any hesitation, Vivianna smirked gleefully aimed at the target & fired her sniper: BANG! BANG! BANG!

Brazilian President Joao Figueiredo, who was hit by bullet fragments in the right side of his body, survived the onslaught of the gunfire & currently recovering from his injuries at Hospital das Universidade de Sao Paulo, which is being heavily guarded by security detail from the Brazilian Secret Service.

In the meantime, Pinochet's body was taken out of the hospital by Presidential bodyguards of the Chilean Presidential Guard Group, who carried the casket of the slain Chilean President into a hearse & sped off all the way to the nearest airport for the trip back to Chile while members of Pinochet's family begin working on funeral arrangements which will be finalized in the coming days.

Pinochet's wife, former Chilean First Lady Lucy Hiriart looked completely distraught & completely "out of it" according to anonymous sources; some noted the obvious bloodied stained dress which she refused to change as they boarded the Presidential aircraft back to Santiago.

According to eyewitnesses, they heard 6 loud gunshots fired at Vargas Plaza: the first shot sounded like a firecracker; the second shot hit Pinochet in the neck; third shot struck him in the back; fourth shot struck Figueiredo causing several injuries in other parts of his body; fifth shot missed the Presidential limousine hitting one of the bystanders. One eyewitness thought it was quite odd watching the driver slamming the break when the sixth shot was fired causing a violent grapgic headshot, which blasted out the right backside of Pinochet's head. Imediately, chaos ensued among the crowd.

June 14th-18th, 1979: President Brown meets with Brezhnev in Vienna to sign SALT II Treaty

President Jerry Brown & First Lady Linda Ronstadt Brown made their visit to Austria on June 14th; the President & First Lady both met with Austrian President Rudolf Kirchsanger & Austrian Chancellor Bruno Kreisky, this marked the 13th visit of his Presidency.

The main point of attention was Brown's meeting with Soviet President Leonid Brezhnev. Following seven years of negotiations that begun under President Nixon & continued under President Ford (but were stalled under the Rockefeller administration), Soviet & American diplomats reached agreement on the new strategic arms limitation treaty called SALT II. During a summit meeting in Vienna both Brezhnev & Brown signed the SALT II Treaty on June 18th.

June 18th, 1979: Brown addresses Joint Session of Congress; calling for Senate ratification of SALT II Treaty
Following his historic summit meeting in Vienna, President Brown flew back to Washington, DC & in order to emphasize the significant importance of the treaty, the President addressed a Joint Session of Congress later that evening. Brown called for the United States Senate to ratify the new strategic arms treaty explaining:
"The SALT II Treaty reduces the danger of nuclear war. For the first time------for the first time-------it places equal ceilings on the strategic arsenals of both sides, ending a previous numerical imbalance in favor of the Soviet Union. SALT II preserves our options to build the forces we need to maintain that strategic balance. The treaty enhances our own ability to monitor what the Soviet Union is doing and it leads directly to the next step in more effectively controlling nuclear weapons.
The Soviet Union will have to destroy or dismantle some 250 strategic missile systems.....By contrast, no operational United States forces will have to be reduced."

June 25th-29th, 1979: President Brown attends 5th G7 Summit in Japan
Next on the itinerary was President Brown's 14th trip overseas: Japan, where President Brown met with Emperor Hirohito in a red carpet Welcoming Honors Ceremony on the grounds of Asakaka Guest House in Tokyo; he reviewed the Japanese Self Defence Force personnel troops during the Honor Guard Inspection. Following the festivities, there was a State Dinner held in President Brown's honor later that evening: highlighting the diplomatic relations between the US & Japan over the years.

Brown also attended the 5th G7 Summit where he held bilateral meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Masayoshi Ohira, Brirish Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, West German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt, French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing to name a few.

June 29th-July 1st, 1979: Brown makes State Visit to Korea
President Jerry Brown & First Lady Linda Ronstadt Brown arrived in Seoul, Korea, the last stop of his Asian Pacific Tour this Summer although sources indicate Brown will be visiting Taiwan, the Philippines & Indonesia this Fall.

Following a motorcade through the heart of Seoul, the Brown's rode in the armored presidential limousine with Korean President Park Chung-hee & his daughter, defacto Korean First Lady Park Geun-hye: both Brown & Park delivered speeches following the Welcoming Honors Ceremony & Honor Guard Inspection.

Brown & Park held a bilateral meeting over inside Cheong Wa Dae (Residence of the Korean President), where they discussed negotiations regarding transferring operational control of military bases to the Republic of Korea Armed Forces; the latest developments in the ROKUS Economic Trade Agreement, etc.,

President Brown also visited the US military personnel troops including several of the nuclear ground personnel troops stationed in Korea as well as the UN Forces Command military personnel troops, who are stationed at the DMZ.

July 1st, 1979: State Funeral held for Chilean President General Augusto Pinochet with full military honors

From June 28th-July 1st, thousands of Chileans paid their respects to the 29th President of Chile inside the Santiago Metropolitan Theatre, where they solemnly filed past the closed, flag-draped casket which was guarded by the Honor Guard personnel consisting of the Chilean Armed Forces.

The State Funeral festivities were held inside the Chilean Military Academy Grounds on the morning of July 1st. Among the dignitaries in attendance: Paraguayan President General Alfredo Stroessner, Mexican President General Oscar Robles, US Secretary of State Walter Mondale, former Panamanian President William Alvarez, former Spanish First Lady Carmen Polo, French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing including countless others as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps from about 57 countries. Following the 2-HR State Funeral festivities, the final 21 Cannon Salute was fired by the Battery Field Regiment of the Chilean Army followed by a flyover from the Chilean Air Force; Soon afterwards, the Chilean flag which had drapped Pinochet's casket was folded & given to his wife, former Chilean First Lady Lucy Hirart Pinochet.

Soon after the festivities, Pinochet's casket was taken to a hearse & driven out of the grounds of the Chilean Military Academy as crowds of mourners along the streets of Santiago chanted "Long Live Pinochet! We Will Avenge Pinochet! Long Live Chile!" as the hearse drove pass the crowds.

According to sources, Pinochet was cremated in a secret ceremony in the outskirts of Santiago due to fears of having the Pinochet family tomb ransacked by Argentinian troops due to the violent deadly escalation in the Argentina-Chile War. Sources also noted that Pinochet's ashes will be entombed in Los Boldos at a later date.

With Pinochet gone, the biggest test for the Chilean military government was figuring out who'll replace him as the 30th President of Chile & leading the country through a never-ending deadly war with no end at sight.
