Serious question about anti-Semitism.

Am I the only one who hates Hitler because he basically gave away a Victim Card(tm) with unlimited withdrawals, and a bonus Mutual Collective Guilt Fund to boot?

We can certainly put that on the list of reasons to hate Hitler, for those who think hating dead people to be an activity worth doing.
Both of those things depend on the same kind of collectivist thinking that has been denounced earlier in this thread, of course.

On that same list would be a lot of other things.

I wouldn’t call the organised extermination of 50pct of your ethnoreligious group “giving away”. Philosophical works have been written simply trying to cope with that and it has left an indelible stain of tragedy on the world and served as a shock so great it became a world-historical endorsement of atheism and nihilism. The fact the surviving Jews did not entirely give in is a testament to the strength and power of their religious beliefs, as many gentiles have not been so strong.

I'll try to word my explanation as well as I can, so expect some things that I need to clarify later.

What I meant to say was that now, any criticism is silenced by playing the victim card. Or worse, appealing to ancestor guilt.

Hitler's actions regarding the Jewish people is perhaps the biggest example of wanting to do one thing and the opposite thing ends up happening.

Serious question here:

At what point do we draw the line between legitimate criticism and outright hate when it comes to Jewish people and ideology?

Because thanks to WW2, the pendulum has swung so far in one direction that you can't criticize policy and ideology before people drop in with the related memes.

Yes, I know this sounds like prime edgelord material, but hear me out on this one. Because IMO any ideology deserves to be criticized, especially something as bad as "chosen people ideology".
Um people have been hating on Jews for the better part of 2,000 years. And people in this world still have irrational hatred of Jews. So their is a reason criticism is not even remotely tolerated. Historical treatment of them had been that bad.

The question of why that particular people have historically attracted such animosity should not be off-limits though.

One major cause for propagandizing is that Judaism doesn't have an ursury ban, so the modern banking system's root for loans was limited exclusively to Jewish bankers. Who got assloads of money as a result, because loans pay back in excess of initial expenses.

And the less-rich asshole aristocrats really liked to be able to take out loans to do "petty" war, and took the cultural frictions from Jews self-segregating and being of a different faith as a driver to avoid having to default on debts. By way of aiming angry commoners at the bankers.

Edit: Bit of clarification, the usury thing is important to Jews embedded in Christendom, as Judaism does have an intra-faith ban on interest rates.

But this doesn't apply to the wider Christian population, so Jewish bankers couldn't screw over their own people with loans without immediate loss of all social standing, but could operate as fully for-profit banks for Christians seeking loans.

And this really took off because it's one of the few major things they could do to interact with the wider economy, with the cultural and religous issues having already resulted in a number of bans on occupations.

This formed a feedback loop of oppression as the only position of power they were allowed was the exceptionally hated status of moneylenders, forbidden utterly to Christians from... Exactly the same verses the Jews have and outgroup exception reading for, to my limited knowledge of the theology.

Middle man minorities always deal with that kind of crap. Its not just us who deal with that kind of drama.

Indeed. And not always through doing actually overtly evil things like loan-sharking, either.
Being smarter and more industrious than the ethnic majority is often itself treated as a crime.

A category! Finally, a box I can put this phenomenon in!

That always helps.

What about memes that criticize an ethnicity for being the opposite of smart and industrious?

Nah, that's almost always racism.

Many ethnic stereotypes have some truth, for example in the early 20th century many Polish immigrants had low IQs, but these increased rapidly so that Polish-Americans were at the white norm in the space of decades. This is very simply because even if genetics are fixed, a wide variety of social and economic factors can make one function at a lower level than you are capable of. Though we have increasing evidence of the certainty of epigenetic influences—Lamarck’s revenge.

In the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth, absentee nobles used Jews as tax collectors. You can imagine this gave them a warm and fuzzy image among the locals. Classic Machiavellian displacement of the hatred of the oppressed.

When Ukraine revolted against the Poles, the first thing they did was kill the tax collectors. Hence the line in Borat about throwing the Jew down the well to save my country. Also the start of the still-going Cossack-Jew feud.

And then later on the people who drink water from that well start to get sick?
