Anime & Manga RWBY General discussion thread.

It's not possible to write a "Battle School" story without making the school staff horrible. The experienced teaching staff who have years of experience in dealing with such things will otherwise handle all the problems and the students you're using as focus characters will have no adventures.

There's two options for "Battle School Adventure" stories. Either the staff are malevolent/incompetent so students have to solve the problems, or you wait until the students graduate in which case you lose your "High School" vibe that you're using to appeal to high schooler watchers. You can try to have only staff-sanctioned adventures like field trips and such but that lowers the stakes, there's the feeling that if things get out of hand the competent staff with handle it so it doesn't work well.

The otherwise completely generic and bland anime Hundred actually takes a mildly interesting third path of not having any educators in their battle school. We never see the inside of a classroom, the student council apparently handles all the logistics, curriculum, and planning, and if there's a headmaster said entity is offscreen at all times.

Not really a fan and I stopped reading more than a hundred chapters ago, but I think My Hero Academia handled their teacher-level-competency quite well

I... am reasonable certain this is not why the use of the mech is restricted. Rather it was some sort of rare gene or brainwave which was why the military was willing to overlook the... let's say irregular personalities most pilots possessed.
Different, related plot point. Remember, the furry couldnt pilot correctly until she gave her mech the proportions of her fursona?

That definitely seems the wiser path to take.

They did it by not necessarily making the teachers incompetent, but they're certainly not competent enough to handle everything that's being thrown at them in the narrative on their own; which necessitates the students pitching in and fighting alongside them.

In other news.
Ironwood is a 100% a confirmed despot now.

Their is a slight rite between Yang and Ruby over the laters decisions leading ironwood to lose his marbles.

A small flashback of Cinder washing a floor when younger.

Winter has a robotic brace for her injuries which might be permanent.

Willow and Whiley are featured in the into/outtro so they will mostl likely be present again hopefull.

It was a pretty decent set up episode Whale being ergonomic surprised me really

Of course. Bet you dollars to donuts they will make the Schnee boy make the villain somehow. Because white + male = evil.
I actually doubt it. Ironwood is taking that roll, and Whitley will most likely do better now that he is free of his fathers wrath.

Which probably means Whitley will never appear in the show again, outside of a non-speaking cameo in the epilogue; assuming Rooster Teeth holds together long enough as a company to even get to that point.

Shot them? Nah, I'd arrange for a tragic bullhead accident.
The main cast really haven't accomplished much of anything positive, have them? They just uselessly meander around and have pointless discussions for the most part, while every once in a while they do something that ruins everything for everyone. Oh, and I guess they stopped Cinder from getting her hands on that relic that one time; good for them.

Newest volume of RWBY in my eyes is pretty good story, and is pretty awesome in the few fights we have had so far.
Newest episode does bring tears
