I don't want any war. What the Iranian government does to its people is absolutely awful, but an invasion won't make things better. Just ask Vietnam. Or ask the the Philippines, or the plethora of South American and Middle Eastern countries the US tampered with.
I think it's become abundantly clear that every single war the US has gotten involved in since the American Civil War has never been to protect the American people. It's always been to fil the pockets of corporations and lobbyists and the politicians that they bribe.
The wars are always covered in a thin veneer of "self defense", be it either the US baiting for an attack like in Korea or Pearl Harbor and then using that as a Casus Belli, or taking a one off event by an extremist group that is not representative of a whole group of people, like 9/11, and then using that as a Casus Belli.
Every place the US military visits ends up worse than it was before they arrived, and the people of those places grow up and hate us and some of them join violent groups that do stuff like 9/11, which the US just uses as an excuse to launch another war... and then we Americans wonder why everyone else in the world seems to hate us while our media and government tries to tell us "we are making the world a better place!". And yet we never seem to actually make those places better.
The only question is whether or not we go to war this year, or four years from now. Actually, it might be a couple years from now anyway. The Trump presidency has made it evident that the empire is run by people we don't even vote to elect. The CIA, FBI, and Justice department are working against the President and aren't held accountable. The US military engages in war in Syria against the direct orders of the commander and chief. It doesn't matter if Trump is reelected; nothing is going to change. He'll keep trying to herd cats to no avail while the bad guys continue to get away with it all. Trump will be the last Republican President ever and any changes he makes are already being undermined, and will be reversed by the next President. It's futile.
There is a lot of hullabaloo about Iran getting nuclear weapons, but think for a moment. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. They're just going to turn into another North Korea; they wave their little gun around but they have no hope of surviving if they actually use it, so they never will.
