Politicians and Government Cringe Thread

There is a difference between Ziehan level 'strategic collapse' musings of decade+ out, versus claiming the CCP cyberwar infrastructure/command is not able to seeming routinely harass and compromise US persons/groups/infrastructure.
And we can do the same to them and worse

Really? China has in the last few decades gained priceless technological data through their cyberwar efforts (they penetrated pretty much every major defense contractor in the West). What comparable technological data can USA steal from them?

We can pretty much brick much of their systems when ever we want. The us cyber warfare division is huge scary and on a leash.

I means the CCP have access to diplomatically sensitive material, and it sounds like the infiltration via email has gone farther than just this ambassador, all the way into the top levels of the State Dept.

And if the State Dept got hacked by this, for who knows how long, then the possibility they pushed out farther than just the State Dept has to be considered, and with the US track record of protecting ourselves from the CCP, expecting the CCP to have anything in the US gov that isn't air gapped or only on paper is hardly unreasonable.

So while they may not have some of the super secret sauce, like the launch codes and shit for the nuclear triad missions, they probably have enough to help them engage in non-kinetic attacks,or just more accurate/skilled influence ops, on the US populace and economy.
I mean, eh? Do you know how encryption works on these systems generally

For such good stealing of cyber warfare they are horrible at making it work

Yes, using the imaginary numbers shit that they've stuck into calc classes, and probably all sorts of weird unique codes.

Still doesn't really help if the encryption is there, if they can still get to the State Dept system and spread in it to hack others; 'record now, decrypt later' a thing, you know.

They CCP don't need cyberwar to steal from the US.

The terms they used to put on any company trying to operate in the CCP, in terms of tech transfer, already give them a lot of the US patents and such, or at least the ones not covered by ITAR; for those the CCP has to be a bit more...creative to get the data.

The question isn't which of the US and China is gonna be in for very bad times in the near future because of their shit policies. they both will. The question is more which can recover better and if a 3rd power could rise during that time.

Most require a physical key of sorts.
Unless it is on a met that has literally no connection to NIPR.

Chinese-American and other "Fusion" cuisine is better than the stir fried magical mystery meat and other assorted noodles and broths and Coronaviral wet market flavorings that makes up Chinese cuisine anyways (in my expert opinion).
Chop Suey was basically Chinese leftovers from a restaurant in America.
