Look, the Spenglerian view of history is interesting, but do not take it as gospel. Given how comically wrong Spengler got it the first time round in the form of Germany and Hitler, mayhaps the idea has some flaws hither and thither?
He's not the only person who wrote about historical cycles.
And in his defense...he got way to emotionally invested in his home country to understand that they were fighting both the tide of history and that they were dealing with a total psychopath.
Though If I turn out to be wrong and we are able to turn things around in the next 30-40 years I will be fucking jubelilent.

I don't think it can realistically go on much longer without the US imploding. There are just way too many mounting problems that are not being addressed in the slightest. The biggest is the looming economic catastrophe coupled with a non existing border and mass migration.

However, I'm thinking 2024 stands a good chance of being RFK Jr. vs DeSantis, with neither Biden or Trump on the ticket.
Spengler is useless and overhyped in Right Wing historical circles, because he's one of the few that has ideas that echo a lot of the fringe Right's desires to see all modern history as LARPing Rome.

Assuming anyone even hears about it. Most people will either never hear about it, or will only hear a sanitized MSM version of it. The only voters this will draw are Republicans who wouldn't normally vote for Trump and who would have not voted at all had he been the nominee.
That's one of the main problems: control of information. They control what people see and hear, and by extension what they can think. It's pretty insidious.
Technology has changed and its a lot harder to control information these days.
I don't think its quite hit us culturally but it is having an impact.
It's true there are alternatives which are breaking free of such monopolies, but on a grand scale, with the general population of Western countries? They're niche at best.
Until they become mainstream alternatives, the monopolies will always control what the masses hear, see, and (indirectly) think.

Like you have no fucking clue, Rush Limba was a big deal for a long time because he got the right a singular radio station. So much of american poltics was simply shut out completely. Then Rush gave a lot of people who had been disenfranchized for decades a voice, then fox news came a about which was a big beal back in the day.
Now its a lot more open then it used to be, we have a lot of censorship a lot of bullshit but its not as bad as it was 30 fucking years ago.
