Politicians and Government Cringe Thread

Megan Brock, a reporter for the conservative Daily Caller, was sued by Bucks County, Pennsylvania in order to prevent the release of the counties records relating to Covid-19/Commie Cough and school reopening plans.

Daily Caller said:
Judge Denise M. Bowman ruled on April 28 that more than half of Brock's requests, which were made under the state's Right-to-Know Law (RTK), had been withheld "in bad faith." She ordered the county to release certain documents and pay $1,500 in sanctions for each of the two lawsuits brought against Brock, the maximum allowed under RTK.

Megan Brock along with being a journalist is also apparently a parent in the county in question and made these requests initially way back in February of 2022.

Huh. That’s where I live.

Bernie wants more money whether it can be afforded or not:

He found an excellent racket for making money off idiots.

'We will take less of your money away' is not the same as 'we will take money from other people and give it to you.'
Eh, for political effect, it pretty much is, and the Dems have proved that time and again.

It may not be ideologically satisfactory, however that is the political reality.

What'd ge do this time? A Freudian slip? Or did he accidentally declare war on Switzerland.

Given his brain is Swiss Cheese, it wouldn't surprise me.
I still remember his Palpatine speech, and it's even funnier when you see that the network tries to subtly change the ominous red into a totally non-threatening fuchsia.

Biden gaffes are so numerous and so common most networks are not even bothering playing clips of his press conferences. They have a reporter tell you what was discussed on, and maybe show some video of the even that has no audio with narration done in post.

Easier to deal with the dementia patient like that.

Might regret asking, but what can they do if Trump disobeys, exactly?

For a normal person, they’d undoubtedly have the book thrown at them for ignoring a court order. However, given Trump’s status as former president and all his connections, I doubt it’ll be easy to back up — or at least, not directly so.

Effectively indefinite contempt of court charges that could result in a jail hold of indefinite length due to the difference between civil and criminal contempt proceedings.

Though any sentence for contempt is likely to be modified to house-arrest due to Secret Service conditions/laws about POTUS/Fmr. POTUS security.

Yeah, I figured as much.

Seen it suggested that Trump could run even if placed under house arrest. Eugene Debs did it, though I suppose the difference is he was a private citizen with no hope of winning — whereas Trump is rich, was once president, and remains far more feared by The Establishment than a shouty fringe agitator like Debs ever was. In which case, they’ll probably take more “draconian” steps to shut Trump down, as well as MAGA at large along with him.
