EXCLUSIVE: UN Spins Professor’s Article on Hunger as ‘Satire’ — Professor Disagrees

The United Nations quietly removed an old op-ed from its website after the article went viral for claiming that hunger “has great positive value to many people.” The UN claimed the article was “satire,” directly contradicting comments the author made to MRC Business via email.

“For those of us at the high end of the social ladder, ending hunger globally would be a disaster,” University of Hawaii Professor Emeritus George Kent wrote in a 2008 article headlined “The Benefits of World Hunger.” The UN Chronicle issued this July 6 statement in an attempt to cover up the story: “This article appeared in the UN Chronicle 14 years ago as an attempt at satire and was never meant to be taken literally. We have been made aware of its failures, even as satire, and have removed it from our site.” [Emphasis added].

Kent directly debunked the UN’s claim in an email to MRC Business: “I never intended it as satire. And I did not hope that it would be read as praise for hunger. My main point was and still is that some people benefit from the existence of hunger in the world. That helps to explain why hunger is so persistent in many places.” [Emphasis added].

The article, originally from 2008, resurfaced on the internet in recent days, with Climate Depot founder Marc Morano sharing the story on his Twitter account. “The UN Chronicle essay said the quiet part out loud, that the wealthy elites desire to keep the masses hungry and in check,” Morano said in exclusive comments to MRC Business.

Morano also tore apart the UN Chronicle’s tweet, telling MRC Business: “The UN's attempt to spin the article as satire is absurd and is nothing more than covering their behinds when they faced huge outcry over the article.”

Kent seemed to defend certain aspects of world hunger in his controversial essay. But he told MRC Business in an interview that he never intended his article to read that way; rather, he wanted to point out that a few rich people in the world benefit from cheap labor resulting from hunger, he said. Kent is currently the Deputy Editor of World Nutrition and has had a long career in studying agriculture.

“Hungry people are the most productive people, especially where there is a need for manual labour,” he wrote. “If there were no hunger in the world, who would plow the fields? Who would harvest our vegetables? Who would work in the rendering plants? Who would clean our toilets? We would have to produce our own food and clean our own toilets.”

He concluded: “People at the high end are not rushing to solve the hunger problem. For many of us, hunger is not a problem, but an asset.”

Kent’s article remained on the UN’s website for 14 years before the UN removed it after receiving backlash on Twitter. Commentator Mike Cernovich tweeted, “The UN removed a page from its site entitled - The Benefits of World Hunger[.] Fact checkers will say the page never existed.”

"The UN claimed the article was “satire,” directly contradicting comments the author made to MRC Business via email."

So they honestly want us to believe that the UN now engages in putting out "satire" articles joking about world hunger and famine being a useful tool to the elite?

Holy shit....

The article, while extremely evil, wasn't completely wrong. When someone is tired, desperate, and starving they'll do pretty much whatever it takes to get a meal and the list of crimes they'll commit starts with things like shoplifting and petty theft.

The UN as an organisation has been very corrupt for a long time.

He lasted longer than I thought.

It was rather bizarre adventure, wasn't it?

The Author himself says it was not satire, but a extremely blunt explanation of the phenomenon and why some people might not want hunger gone.

So the author was pointing out the man behind the curtain? Huh, that is both more and less sinister than I thought...

TL;DR: Schiff wants to block future Congress's (that might be red) from oversight on domestic troops deployments, such as when Nat Guard assist Border Patrol, or in the case of events like Jan 6th, and generally remove a lot of Congressional oversight of the armed forces in such a way that it would make it harder for any unfriendly Congress to go over Biden's actions/dig deep into them.

One key bit:
Advocates touted the Schiff measure as a bill that would suppress evidence obtained by the military during unlawful deployment domestically.

The Brennan Center for Justice was among dozens of groups to back the measure. They said it would “establish clear consequences to deter the government” from wrongfully deploying the military in civil law enforcement situations under a law known as the Posse Comitatus Act."

The 1878 law prohibits the Army or Air Force from enforcing U.S. laws unless authorized by the Constitution or Congress.

Transparency advocates say Mr. Schiff’s proposal, which would suppress evidence and expand the act to all military branches, is overly broad and goes too far in shielding the military from scrutiny. It could also block Republicans in Congress from planned oversight of the Biden administration.

Edit: Real kicker:
Mr. Stimson, who served as a deputy assistant secretary of defense under President George W. Bush, said the measure would block the courts and Congress from oversight of the military and information collected by the military if the deployment is deemed in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act.

“If somebody from the armed forces, or perhaps even the National Guard, who were brought up into service under federal authority, were given a direct order which they thought were lawful, but it was actually not a lawful order, but they didn’t have the gumption to know whether it was or not, they can’t be brought before the House or subcommittee of the House,” Mr. Stimson said.

That literally sounds like wanting to make sure they can deploy the army against the lower echelons of government without them knowing.

Isn't this shit literally unconstitutional?
You need to get it through your head: The Left doesn't care if it's unconstitutional. Anything is justified to destroy the Great Satan aka us. They hate us and want to genocide us.

You know once you regain the house you can do to the Dems all the things they did to us. Start looking into his business for illegal shit which he is most likely doing. Stop just taking it and let them see how it feels.
IF we get the House...well, we'll just have to see what kind of balls the R's have.

The EU spent actual money to make a "guide to hate speech and memes", thousands if not upwards of a million Euros to woke academic retards to find memes and catalog them.

Edit: They deleted the tweet a few hours ago. It was published on the 07 to a deafening silence, until some anon found it on the 13/4th and it became viral. After around 3 days of getting clowned on the actual "guide" leaked and the Eurofags deleted the tweet, proving that the left can't meme. Here is a archive link.

People clowned on them on the replies, demanding the book so they can laugh at it. Eventually someone found it and leaked it, apparently a 4chan user in Switzerland. And while it has pretty good production value and graphic design the actual content is... Well..

This should tell you how bad it actually is.

No problem accessing the book, but the tweet isn't available anymore. Hmm, I wonder why that could be? :cautious:
