On the subject of Man-Babies, check out this NPR offering to help those most harmed by the war; NPR viewers.

NPR replies to themselves several times with useful tips for how you can cope with the horrors of knowing somebody else is going to war while you sit on your comfortable couch, if you want to read it. Favorite reply included for the lulz.

Sam Hyde was supposed to be a comedian, not a prophet.

And Forever War was supposed to be about the disconnect between "civilized" society and vietnam veterans, not an instruction manual.

Yep, it's mostly old Cold Warriors and Boomers thinking this is the perfect chance to finally crush Russia.

Then again, they've never been shy that they are fine sending the youth to die to maintain thier idea of what the world and America's place in it should be.

At least they cannot use the draft this time.

Mostly, but not all; a number of them managed to pass on a sort of second-hand nostalgia for the Cold War to the younger generations, at least some of whom seem to be excited at the prospect that they'll finally get the opportunity to stick it to the Soviet Union like their grandparents did.

That's fair; it does seem like a lot of more warhawkish type in the youth seem to want to try to recreate the glory and prestige their grandparents got from WW2 or feel they can now make said grandparents proud by crushing Russia for them.

The pride an ego of the warhawks, the DC establishment, and the Boomers is likely going to lead this nation into a nuclear war, unless saner heads prevail.

We already lost the Cold War with China; because from beginning to end we refused to recognize that it was even happening, and ended up with most of our institutions subverted by them without a fight. For Pete's sake; our current "president" conducted clandestine deals with them, and yet in spite of proof of that coming out, he still got "elected".

Not disputing that.

I'm just saying that Red China deserves the title way more than Putinist Russia, which is more or less finished as a world power in all significant ways, but militarily. Sadly, I doubt the Chinese will come under nearly the kind of scrutiny they deserve. We'll come to regret that later, I fear.

China is about to be wrecked by its own internal problems hard.
