The way I read it was: You do not get to choose who you are physically attracted to, but you do get to choose how you act in regard to said attractions.

Is it possible to recognize Pedophilia as a mental disorder or dangerous paraphilia without ostracizing them from society?

KEEPING IN MIND, pedophilia is illegal, child porn is illegal, and you don't have to 'normalize' pedophilia as just another fetish and anyone who engages in such action should be punished for such heinous crimes.

But I think that there is a pretty big area between person who maybe have pedophilic attraction but has never done anything and exiling them from society/firing squad for having such indecent fantasies. And I'd rather have "closet" pedophiles getting therapy and medication if they need it instead of hiding. Having this kind of attraction is wrong and it should be recognized as being wrong. But that doesn't mean a person who has that attraction but has never acted on it and is otherwise just a normal member of civil society should have their humanity discounted.

On the one hand, I can totally buy the idea that "being attracted to undeveloped bodies" is a physical thing...

On the other hand... accepting that about being gay seems to have lead pretty directly to some really messed up stuff...

On the third hand, gays at least can theoretically act on their attractions in ways that don't hurt anyone and it might just be a matter of incomplete acceptance.

On the fourth hand, should Society be willing to take that risk at all?

It's ok to acknowledge that some young people have physical traits which will make them more attractive when they are of legal age. This is part of the lizard brain programming wired into us.

Someone can acknowledge jailbait exists, and not be a pedo. It's when people start preferring jailbait or seeking relationships with them, that's when we have issues.

It is not ok to nurture or push sexual attraction onto people who are not of legal age, by those of age.

Those who want to indulge in actual P stuff...I understand the viceral reaction many people have about that. If someone has such bad judgement and lack of morals or ethics to willling and knowingly touch someone who they know is underage...we don't need them in our society.

I would completely agree with you if you restricted that sentiment to "pedos who act on their desires". Even murders on death row are more trusted than the ones locked up for diddling kids.

This is a reflection of a sick mentality.

Especially given how often it is being the victim of a pedophile that in and of itself spurs pedophilia in someone once they reach adulthood. Someone who is hit by a sick and twisted urge, but denies it, is guilty of no crime.


That said, reject everything the left pushes out of hand. They're just trying to normalize and justify acting on their sick and twisted desires. This goes back to the disaffected marxists who created post-modernism, such as Foucault and Derida. IIRC, they had their names on a petition to abolish the age of consent in France.

There is a difference between approving of pedophilic activity/preferrences, and understanding why it happens in humans at all.

Human's used to live in times where you were lucky to make it to 40, and teen pregnancies with child brides happened with regularity in those who survived to puberty in many places. We sometimes forget how many infants/young children died young for the majority of human history, and how that influenced the age at which it became 'accepted' to seek mates at. Seeing a 50 yo with a teen is still gross, and society didn't like that, which is part of why we have the laws around this stuff that we do now.

We have laws in place around this stuff because it used to be more of a issue covered by religious laws, rather than secular laws. Like this was part of why the Mormons had...issues and were forced to flee west, and some of the more radical sects are still...iffy about this.

Also, have we all forgotten what happened with Mohammad and his child bride? Or why we have the Romeo and Juliet laws? Or, as @LordsFire points out, some P's are victims of it as well because of the disgusting ways some people with power *coughCatholicChurch/elites/Epstien/et al*, but actively deny any urge that hits them?

The issue now is that so many of the elite have been caught in this stuff, and the Epstein shit has shown how many of the elite indulge in henous shit, and some parts of the establishment are trying to normalize it. Which is heinous, there is no mistake about that.

this is one of the reasons why I think modernity is ending, every civilazation has hard limits and protecting your children is by default a pretty basic one.
