We have them blowing this up,
Welp, this is what they said about it:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">North Korean statement after they blew up the North-South Liaison Office in Kaesong (DPRK). I would question the words “tragically” and “terrific” in the final paragraph. <a href="https://t.co/fYpVLTRMlS">pic.twitter.com/fYpVLTRMlS</a></p>&mdash; Alistair Coleman (@alistaircoleman) <a href="https://twitter.com/alistaircoleman/status/1272814136066531328?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 16, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

and even better

So, as a Soldier stationed here in ROK, I can tell you this seems to be not so good

Any explanation what's the reason for this rapid deterioration of relations between the two Koreas?

The most likely cause would be deteriorating health of the beloved leader, thus they are preparing the stage, so they can portray the sister as strong and determined leader. When fatty took over they inagurated his enthronement by sinking a SK warship and bombarding an island, resulting in fifty deaths.

Well I'm not surprised, given everything going on, that the Norks are deciding now might be the last time they have to really go for broke.

Particularly if the sister is now effectively in charge, while it seems they are playing 'Weekend at Bernie's' with Kim's body/body double.

It may also be because Japan just halted thier part of the Aegis Ashore defense network over complaints about potential falling rocket boosters from the SMs at the base.

Add in our 3 carriers in the Pacific, and China's escalating clashes with India, and it seems the stage is rather set.

Praying the balloon doesn't go up for the US, but not optimistic we can avoid conflict this time.

We wont avoid conflict if things erupt out here. We will be the main fighting force

Looks at the size of SK army, looks at the size of USFK. I have a slight feeling that SK will be the main fighting force and not you guys.

Thats a “tripwire” force. The main body of Troops for a US commitment in the event of war would be sent from Japan, Guam, and CONUS, kind of like REFORGER during the Cold War.

If I had a cent for every time I read this in the last five years...

The SK would still be the main force as their peace time army stands at 450.000 troops with double the number of reservists, USA can't match those numbers. And honestly, if it really comes to war, it would be preferable for Americans to let the Koreans do most of the ground fighting as American public doesn't have high tolerance for casualties.

The US would contribute a large number of assault forces to the battle, as well as provide better intelligence and signal operations for the ROK, as well as having the ability to get forces from Japan, Guam, and CONUS. 450,000 is a lot, but nK has more troops, so that and what their plan is for an attack would definitely not make it a pure Korean fighting war.

I know how the US would operate here, the plan is classified of course, but it is definently a combined armies fighting force.

It's simple math. The more boots you have on the ground, the better, but the U.S. can also provide additional capabilities the ROK's don't quite have. You WANT that edge if god forbid it all finally does go to pot, and that's also assuming the Chinese don't get involved or try to play a spoiler role at some point.

Which EVERYONE knows they will. It happened back in the original war, will happen again. Which is the biggest issue

A war right now doesn't benefit China, and NK is China's client state. This is empty saber rattling, as all NK actions are.
Eh I wouldnt be to sure. There are some interesting things happening between everyone over here

So much for a "new era in inter-Korean relations"....

But hey, at least Trump got his photo-op with Kim Jr.!

I'd be curious what Hannity and Carlson are saying, if anything at all about this as they were practically over the moon (no pun intended) when Trump had his meeting with Kim Jr.

Yeah, I am going to go out on a limb? What is the possibiltity that the brother has been forcibly retired...and sis is calling the shots? We don't know much about her. But, what we do know is that she makes her brother look like a humanitarian.

She is the most like her father and grandfather, and she won't hesitate if she sees an opening.

I would argue, HIGH, because Fatboy Jr. when it's all said and done, was pretty much a pampered spoiled richboy with a gluttonous appetite and not a whole lot else. He had a modern education, sure, but seemed to be more content to stuff himself with vices than any real ambitions. He struck me as more of a figurehead than anything for the real movers and shakers behind the throne.

I get the feeling "Sis" got tired of sitting in the shadows and watching Dear Brother stuff himself with caviar and has already made her move, or is in the process thereof.

EDIT: The fact that Sis does indeed make Kim Jr. look like a Nobel prize winner by comparison ought to be worrying, as Kim Jr.'s recent favorite pastime was apparently having anyone he didn't like getting lined up and shot to pieces with KPV 14.5mm heavy machine guns, supposedly with Kim Jr. himself watching the spectacle. Reminds me of the 15th Century Vlad Tepes and the "banquets" he'd have prepared with his victims impaled alive on spikes in attendance...

Also, with the moves Xi Jinping's been making lately, I would not be surprised if Sis has been in contact with the Chinese hierarchy and are seeing a warming in relations again, having a shared "common enemy" and all that...

About the executions, while some of it is most likely true, much is propaganda based on wild rumors as some of supposedly executed officials turned up alive later.

There is not more going on then yall know, especially between China and nK

No, NK's leadership has been starting to go 'off script' for a while now, only with Chubby's rise to power it becoming more prevalent. Chubby's sudden ailment is probably China's way of telling the rest of the leadership to stop going 'off script'...
