Musk actually buys Twitter.

I wonder how their parents failed so hard to create such people.
Broken homes, I imagine. Both parents working, rarely home? Children without a stable home life, who get 'raised' by activist teachers and/or spend way too much time in the company of older kids who've already been fucked up by the same process, well... they come out one of two ways. The less-likely outcome is that you ultimately become stronger for it. The regrettably far more frequent result is what we now see all around us.

Unpopular opinion here, but somebody has to rain on the parade and point out the king is naked, Musk taking twatter and changing the relevant policies that pushed conservatives, libertarians and other anti-establishment and anti-NPC people might hurt us in the long run because it decreases the need and interest in the creation of alternate structures and platforms, and it might be possible for Twatter and Musk to be forced into doing more censorship or stealthy crap that is detrimental to the opposition.

It'll depend on if he can keep it private or not. Honestly though fixing the system we currently have would save us a lot of trouble.

I greatly prefer smaller, newer platforms that have been forced to be lean and mean as a place to talk against the establishment.

Twatter is IMHO very big and full of silly clueless randos, NPCs and bots.I think all their ifnrastructure was moved to AWS and I doubt that Musk will be able to purge every SJW nutjob in the staff from a place that was a breeding ground for SJW buffoons.

It won't happen fast and I doubt it will ever be complete.

Eh I don't agree entirely but I see where you are coming from.

Musk could just rewrite the TOS so only US courts have jurisdiction, and tell the SPD to stuff it.

Twitter is not a German company, Musk is a US citizen, and they have no jurisdiction over Musk's purchase.
If Musk wanted to he could tell the entire EU that using twitter in any way from an ip address traceable to somewhere in the EU is now a violation of the twitter TOS with a nice blue birdie and a middle finger.

The 'total monopoly' ship has already sailed. Alternate platforms in general aren't just going to up and fold, even if Twitter becomes as free as it was supposed to be originally. A few tiny ones may fold, but things like Gab that have a decent user-base will just keep on trucking.

The most relevant factor here, is that a lot of the political elite let Twitter shape their view of the world, and what the 'common man' supports, and thus is a good political platform. This breaks the leftist chokehold on that, which is worth a lot more than a 'maybe this will be bad in the future' hypothetical.

I do not think that the elite needs Twitter as much as you think it does, any discussions they can have can be done over other channels.

The impact will be far less than you think, the only good thing is that more normies might be able to speak out and tell the Blue haired ones to BTFO and that they are morons, but I doubt it will have that much of an impact on already radicalized leftoid morons.

However, it can still be a trap.Don't forget that Musk still needs to make money off of the shithole.

The problem is that the EU is a sizable market.

They could blacklist Germany only, I suppose, Google did that with Google News and Spain after Spain decided to force them to pay money to legacy media rags to which Google News was linking.

To paraphrase and greatly misquote a deceased US Senator who played an Admiral in The Hunt For Red October back in 1990: "Musk doesn't take a dump without a plan. So, what's his plan?"

The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.

It's just 8 dollars mon ami. They're not asking you to pay for a second maginot line or a failing colonial war.

I guess he will have to settle for "state affiliated media."

Private company. Sad. Make your own Twitter or something.

That was quick lol.

And quite justified.

IIRC this forum has banned people for impersonating someone else at least once. This forum also has a light hand when it comes to moderation and you basically need to fuck up "Six-ways-to-Sunday" before you get slapped with anything more than a short threadban.

Tomfoolery aside, though, I wonder when they’ll start to about-face on the whole “It’s a private company; it can do what it wants!” line that we’ve been hearing them bleat ad nauseam.

They seem to be quietly abandoning it, as is, and considering all the flak Elon’s getting for his new management style, I honestly wonder if the next “evolution” in Leftist talking points will involve them crying to the Biden admin to “Do something!” about Musk’s dealings.

I figure it'll be about when an amputee like me doesn't get flak from a bored Karen for using a handicapped parking space.

I'm missing a toe but you wouldn't know that unless I tell you that because I am actually close to the same size as about a third of guys on an NFL roster.

5'11", 195lbs ain't fat.
