Apparently Chris Avellone, the writer of many a cherished RPG and video game, as well as Cas Anvar of The Expanse have been #metoo'ed as well. Now I've only taken a glimpse at the accusations leveled against them so I could have missed the really damning stuff, but the way it looks to me their crimes were: making unwanted advances, sending lewd text messages that weren't appreciated, and being boozed while trying to get naughty with equally boozed ladies. In short, they are guilty of being the same as 75% of all men on the planet, ever. Far as I can tell there were no cases of assault or worse, only cases of being horny while the other person did not reciprocate.

Again, there could be more to these things than my annoyed, cursory glance at it has revaled. But it seems that in far too many cases the blunt facts on the table hint at the only thing these guys are being guilty of is some over the line texting, and flirting with people who end up not being interested or, worse, end up having buyer's remorse. Which, quite honestly, is kinda hard to fault them for, especially if the other involved party is sending out confusing, or at least not clear enough signals. And the latter, I can say as a man, is all too common for women. Because we males usually don't pick up that well on your (supposed) cues, ladies.
That being said, if we're cynical what's the origin of the whole #metoo movement? Three women - Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan and Alissa Milano - in a career low as deep as the Marianas Trench coming to the realization that the beauty, youth and sexual appeal they could and did leverage to propell them to international fame is gone, and they are being replaced by younger, "hotter" actresses? It's rather telling that neither of these women opened their mouths at the height of their careers in the late 90ies and early 2000s when they would have been just as impervious to attacks as they are now. It's only now when they can no longer use the system to their advantage that they lash out.
That's not meant in defense of the Hollywood system. I realize there are predators in that system that have used and abused people, and they should be burried underneath a prison, to quote Bill Burr. But the overwhelming majority of people on both sides of the equation seem to have knowingly and willingly entered that system and played it to their advantage to the best of their abilities. There's a reason the "casting couch" has been a meme for probably as long as porn and the internet has existed. But I'm just sayin', ya know.

Well, the stupid thing here is: that development is going to blow up in women's faces and leave them disappointed. Just as their desire for more feminist, caring, emotional men did. For the past thirty years men have become more and more effiminate, have been largely brought up and molded by women - and now that these women have the finished product, they realize that actually they do prefer the strong, confident alpha males a lot more than their new effeminate mates. It's the grand irony. Men have spent the past three or four decades ever coming closer to what they've always been told (by women) what women want in men - only for the same ladies to realize that it's baloney. This'll be the same. #metoo will breed segregation and meek men in public, which again will end up being something women actually don't want after all.
